Goodness Bob, that's good wombling and you made good use of it as well.
Another friend, who can see I am trying to make a veg plot gave me some runner bean plants and some courgette plants. So popped them in today after digging in some well, rotted manure donated by neighbour 's horse. How do I put a value on 5 wheelbarrows full of well rotted manure? Whole lot say £5

    Hi Bob and wombles,
Sorry haven't been posting this past few weeks. My wombling efforts haven't been going to well. I've only managed to save £1.40 on car parking and get a free mcd's coffee since my last post. Oh and 23p roadkill. I've updated my signature Bob

Popping up from behind boxes (still!):hello::wave::wave: to report in.....
After having to pay out over 5k for a full rewire () and in between waiting for the roofer and the plasterer who both seem to be water soluble:wall:but promise to be here next week, I have wombled some plants for the garden from a lovely man who is promoting bee friendly plants, so I have a mint, lemon balm, sweet peas, pot marigold, thyme, and a few other plants I can't remember for £0.00

Went to recycle my cardboard at the tip and stopped a man from skipping a lovely wooden planter and loads of big pots, so they came home with me, they are on sale in Wilko for £6 each and I have about 15 of them.

Cleared out the shed in the yard, and found many half empty bottles of whisky, lots of rope, 5 garden hoses (there is only a small paved yard, no need for a hose at all. v confusing) and half a plumber's yard on the roof including a toilet seat, with some bits of pipe and fixings we used to fix the guttering - if he had the bits why did he not spend 5 minutes and do it himself?? So we think he was either an alcoholic depressive plumber, or a secret drinking closet bdsm with a penchant for hoses. I am going to stop thinking too hard about that one and just freecycle them. :rotfl:

The electricians finally went, and I was unloading boxes from my car when a little man popped up and offered to help, he was just sitting on a wall in the sun, drinking his tea, but he was adamant he was not going to let me carry all those boxes, while he sat back and watched, so he helped, and saw the holes in the walls the electrician had left behind. He told me he would be back at 3pm, he was plastering a house opposite and while he didnt have the time to do a full job, he would pop over and fill the holes well enough to wallpaper over.

He wouldn't take a penny for it, said he earnt enough money as it was, and sometimes it wasn't about money. So I have no more holes in the walls on the top floor and will start decorating next week with the bargain basement wallpaper end of lines I have picked up in the colours the kids have asked for. I have spent £16 on Marvel superhero comic wallpaper (Wilko £8 a roll, B&Q £13 for the same thing) for DS3 and DS4 and walked into M0rris0ns yesterday and found a marvel duvet YS down to £3, so bought it. Have bought two rolls of a black and white stripe (think Everton Mint) for DS2 at £6 a roll. DS 1 wants manga posters, so I might just get by with a paint job if I use my Amaz0n vouchers I get from competitions (over £20 at the minute), so if I look in charity shops for some frames, it will work out cheap, or I will have to go to 1KEA!

I have another £25 coming from another postage survey, so it will all be quite cheap, except for the workmen.

Been YS shopping, but panicking cos between the electrics, second plasterer and 2 new velux windows I am going to be potless again.

Went to the Leicester City Parade and party in the park on Monday night, cost £0, ds 3&4 loved it. All within walking distance and we sang and danced and they will remember it forever.

Keeping up with all your wombles, so jealous of free hols! Think it will just be us in a tent again this year. Mind you, I just paid the last installment of DS1's school journey to Devon in June, 5 days in a tent, £275:eek: But next year I am definitely having a hol in the sun somewhere foreign.

    Happy wombling y'all

Our village council is trying to make the village more attractive, and is giving away small plants for the garden / pots. Eight this time, and they are quite large already, so I'd say €1,50 each.
