I have just received £200 from friend to fill my oil tank for next winter's heating. They knew I was saving up for building work. Amazing womble.
So I will add that to my score. Also wombled small pot of jam the friend did not use in the cafe on the scone...no point in just leaving it....say 20p.

Shiny £1 roadkill on T3sco carpark just lying in the middle of the parking space next to mine.

Plus the £250 cashback cheque on the mortgage finally turned up in a format we can take to the bank - awfully presumptuous that we would have a joint bank account!

For some bizarre reason, which cannot be explained, it is £64 cheaper to hire a van from 3nterprise for 7 days Wed/Wed than it is to hire it for 4 days over a weekend. In case anyone is needing to hire one. We have also heard tales from a friend of also getting money back when he returned it early. Fingers crossed.

The kids have been looking at wallpaper for their new rooms, and two decided on Marvel wallpaper - it pays to shop around as it was £13 a roll in B&Q but only £8 in Wilko, so another £10 saved.

Spending lots, but making some savings too.

10p found on the passenger side of the van yesterday :) 9 eggs over the weekend and 4 so far today = £1.30. Asda missed my minced lamb off my delivery on Friday, so I requested a refund, which arrived today - another £4.

I've also been offered a cockerel who slipped through the net at my SiL's egg farm. Actually there are two and she wants me to choose. Trouble is the one I don't pick will be despatched to chicken heaven, so I'm having a massive guilt trip. A bird's life rests in my hands

Her husband also has some full propane gas cylinders he's looking to sell off cheap. He's offered them to us at £15 off each cylinder. Trouble is, we are coming into summer and the need for heating the caravan will, we hope, diminish, so not sure we would use them all. I might suggest just a couple for the time being. I'll record chicken and gas wombles, if decided.

Good news on the mortgage cheque foxholes - I don't have a joint bank account with DH either - his credit rating is so awful, if I associated myself with him, it could spell trouble.
