    afternoon all!

    Peppa - loving the slippers!

Free - glad to hear about the surprise, not glad to hear about the virus :(

Did a boots and debenhams order today, that's most of the gifts done bar the computer games, chocolate and some stocking fillers.

Evening all! Not too much to report.

Won a dairy free advent calendar on facebook. :T My niece should love it.

Went to B&Ms today and got a nice snuggly blanket for my sister in law. Was quite impressed with their christmas aisles. :)

Peppa - Love the slippers and christmas lights! :D

    Hi all
I'm still buying- I just can't seem to stop! I've bought my mum a Poldark calendar and- I'm quite chuffed with this- a signed and mounted print of Aidan Turner which I know she will love as she's got a huge crush on him :rotfl: I got her some pyjamas as well the other day.
I also bought some socks with extra wide cuffs for my friend- she has arthritis in her ankles and they're quite swollen, she finds sometimes that normal socks cut into her so I got some from Yours which are designed for plus size ladies so they're wider.
Also got OH some Oral toothpaste, brush heads and mouthwash to go with his new electric toothbrush. Argos are advertising a mobile phone for £1.99 so I went to see if I could get one for OH today but out of stock grrr!

  • Feisty the cake looks gorgeous as does the welcome mat to your log cabin.

    Hope everyone is well.

Did some Christmas shopping on Amazon yesterday so a few more bits sorted.
Knitted another couple of pairs of stockings, and got a few more crafts planned for the school decoration day

This week we are going to see frank turner in concert, I can't wait, it's dd1s and ds1 birthday pressies and Christmas pressies for ds2 & his gf plus me and Dh are going as well. I'm really looking forward to it and count it as a Christmas pressie to me as well.
Looking to get a bottle of daisy perfume so keeping an eye out for that at the best price I can get.

Still haven't made a start on my reindeer craft challenge item so need to get that sorted.

    Thank you 😊
Does anyone know how long fudge will keep in the fridge? When I make it, it generally doesn't last that long, but as I am trying to manage my time and would like to be able to sell some for the charity, I need to be able to make it as far in advance as possible as the day before I need it will be out of the equation.

I desperately need a day off work to do some housekeeping, last 2 weekends have been basically sleep & shower at home, as will the next 2. My spare room looks as if a bomb has hit it, need something, pull everything out, find it, rush out the door....you get the picture. Just looked at calendar, I have 16 days in December in which to work, see as many people as possible, sort out stuff for the charity, make sure that everything is wrapped, delivered if necessary etc. The last weekend before, again is sleep & shower at home, deal with hampers to be made up, charity Christmas lunch. Monday work, we are trying to cancel class that night, Tuesday, work, hairdresser coming Tuesday evening, Wednesday, work, drive to Holyhead after work, Thursday, ferry home & sleep! Somewhere in amongst all of that, I will need to pack, see my boss who will be having surgery on 14th & will be off work for a month, so will either have to see him in hospital so that the office can be closed easily for the 2 days before Christmas (we close in general until new year anyway), and get him to sign supplier payments, I can do it, but at least it makes him feel important if I get him to do it :D, or if he is out of hospital, call to his house as it is just off M25 so I can get off & on again at J8 on way to Holyhead.

I am exhausted just reading that list! You are one busy elf!

    Love the slippers and fire!

Thanks to your wonderful suggestions about traditons a few months back, I've just ordered a personalised wooden advent calendar with a lit up village scene on top. I plan to fill each drawer with a Christmas activity written on a slip of paper to do that day. I'm hoping it's something the tiny monste will remember with fondness as she grows. It was a lot of pennies, but I figured it will be a heirloom and I managed to nab the last one as they are made in small batches to arrive in time for advent!

GTQ - just a thought - would you need to have certified food preparation area etc if you're making food to sell even if it's for charity? I don't know the rules on this to be honest but someone did fall foul of it round where I live a couple of years ago? Please check up on it before hand just in case! I don't want any of our MSE'ers to end up in trouble over fudge! (Other than the "I ate too much" kind... hehehe)

Depending on your fudge though it should last a couple of weeks in the fridge, but I would make it as close as you possibly could in case people were planning on keeping it themselves for a few days at home?

  • Hi all **waves** I've been mad busy and only just returned to here, 6 pages to catch up on! Jumping back in here though.

Christmas plans not going well, in the sense that I'm getting nowhere fast. I want to go to Home Bargains now to source some stocking bits but am struggling to motivate myself to get going. Been food shopping this morning and also picked up two lava lamps from Argos for my mum to give to my 2 little monsters. My MIL wants me to buy DD's bday present for her (her bday is a few days before xmas) and I'm left wondering why I have to sort this?!

LEMONADEMONEY I know exactly how you feel. We nearly all have birthdays either just before or just after Christmas (Nov 1, 26, 28, 29, Dec 4, Jan 1, 18 and 23) and I always seem to end up getting things for people to give other people and then I end up with no ideas for what I'm going to get!

MRSTINKS that's a good point that I think often gets overlooked. Hope it all works out GTQ.

MRSMONEYPENNY hope you all have a fabulous time at the concert.

MRSINVISIBLE how did the wedding go at the weekend?

Oh wait I did buy some bulk sweets and some Harry Potter chocolate frogs for DD's stocking! I also ordered some cone bags from ebay for the sweets as I'm planning to do the neighbours "Movie night" hampers so bags of sweets for each of the kids old enough to have them seemed like a good idea...

Need to either buy some Christmassy films or work out a plan on that. Don't want to go buy a film people already have... hmmm
