Some Christmas news to report eventually got few presents in sainsbobs sale, PJs when M & S had 20% off now catching up with everyone ordered some brown paper and colourful ribbons and twine for family presents for grandchildren have brought big festive roll as I know they don't appreciate brown paper lol so this weekend hope to get few wrapped up and hide from grandchildren as currently storing them in their bedroom when they have sleepovers!

Got my gingerbread and mulled wine candles and 2 hurricanes in home bargains could have kicked myself when I got home as the gingerbread one would have been perfect for secret Santa at work.
Not sure if this was just local to me but popped in home base and they had clearance sale got candles, photo frames, glassware, Kilner storage picked up a lot of these for home made presents all below half price.

Feisty So jealous and gorgeous photo

Hugs to everyone that's poorly and thank for all excellent advice on here regarding bargains and ideas

I am officially daft! why is it, when l have more to do than l can cope with, someone asks me to do something else, and, because l like them, l say yes? This week was supposed to be helping DD get ready for her Av*n sale on Friday, getting the vestibule Halloween-ed, putting the last of the perennial cuttings to bed for the winter, then, DSIL and her DH ring and ask can they come and stay this week. Thurs/Fri. I love them both, so of course l said yes, so a 6 hour marathon bedroom sort out was needed. (its the room l use as a seed nursery so is full of gardening stuff propagators and the like). Also 'dumping ground for 'stuff without a home of its own' transit camp.
Sounds like great bargains too, and wow, don't some people amaze you with their ahead of the game-ness, all prepared for Christmas before November --you know who you are, lol!
My intention was to get up early and get organised, make soup in slow cooker a) and a tatie pot in slow cooker b) as both taste better a day over, wtite out price signs for DD and stuff, but l am still in bed, supping coffee so there.
My DGN has chicken pox, poor little sweetie, she is covered in them, and not happy, too young to understand, ooohhhh .
I hope that log cabin is firmly anchored, FF, because I WANT IT!
    have splendiferous days, all xxxx

    Morning!

Well after a strange night's sleep, its back to work. Managed to get my uncle's laptop (preloved from tesco ebay outlet) delivered yesterday and my amazing OH has set it up for him, so just need to wrap it.

Present pile is growing slowly, and we are having our two little nieces overnight this weekend as their parents are renovating and its the dusty smelly bits this weekend - we don't have our own kids at the moment, so its nice having a houseful and they are no trouble. Hopefully be able to keep them entertained.

Starting on the OH gift list today (yesterday was payday!), and hopefully pick up some bits and bobs online, as well as make a list of the niggly little jobs I need to do before Christmas (bits of painting/touch ups, finish the conservatory/bar et al), as well as make a list of christmas food for 10!

Just me today until about 7pm as OH is meeting old work friends so might throw a turkey bol in the slow cooker for dinner.
  • Morning DomRavioli - excellent news about the laptop. I think I will start wrapping some of my gifts soon or I might wait till my Christmas tree is up, I can't decide.

Oh god Christmas food for 10!! Better start getting organised.

Hope you make a good start on the OH christmas goodies.

    Dxxx

  • Fiesty - very sorry about your friend's brother - what an awful thing. I did like the picture.

I am now on making Christmas bunting!

I also need my sister to decide about who's hosting Christmas this year as if it's us we could be up to 18 which takes a bit of thought.

I've got between 10-13 for dinner on Christmas Day (3 still need confirming) the usual mix of meat eaters veggies and vegans Along with the usual complaints from mil that it would be nice if just on this one day everyone could eat turkey like they are supposed to as its traditional and the fact she can't stand cooked carrots so why do I always do them!!! It's an even mix with 5meateaters, 3veggies and 5vegans and everyone except mil loves cooked carrots and I never put them on her plate.....and breathe!

We've got 11 on Christmas Day, 8 adults and three children. Of the adults there are 3 veggies and 5 non veggies. We're eating at my sister's house as we can get the tables in better than at mine but sharing the cooking and planning. I need to do the table crackers - I upcycle cheap ones by undoing them, replacing what's inside with something better and then doing them up again.

We are down to 9 this year 7 adults and two children no veggies Peppapig like your cracker idea will look out for some cheap crackers to up cycle normally do a small table present as well as cracker but think this year just concentrate on small gifts to fit in the cracker.

I'm having christmas dinner here too. We finally decided after going to and fro between pros and cons of each house lol. One sister is due her baby in Dec. the others kitchen is too small. I have the space and tables. Think there will be 11 of us, 7 adults and 4 kids and a newborn. I do enjoy it and my sisters/hubbies all bring something, either soup or pudding. So I just have starters, mains and all the trimmings.

One thing I don't have is crackers. Usually I get them in January, but I didn't see any reduced that I liked.
