freespirit - I think I might need to become a member of this gingerbread club. Will need to keep an eye out next time I am in.
Hamper sounds great I would love a gift like that.
You will get your crafting mojo back.
Oh I know so happy, that was a great amount for me to save!
Dxxx0 -
Spendless - Hope you have a fab week off! Have you written a list? I feel that always helps me.
Peppapig - QVC is something that I have never really looked at, might pop on & see what its all about. Can't believe you have wrapped aswell!
missmoose - that is so annoying about the party! Can you not return any of the items??
TQ - Must keep an eye out for these boots vouchers, I am going to one of their Christmas evens on Thursday, get 10.00 of points for every 50.00 spent & it's stuff I have on my list anyway. Can then pop in & treat myself to something nice in January sales!
mrs moneypenny - I think I am going to order that zombie book today for DH I forgot all about it already so thanks for reminding me!
Gwendolyn - It can be so difficult when people are not easy to buy for, I always find my Granny the most difficult because she already has everything & about 30 people buying her every year.
FiestyFidget - awwwwwww what a lovely picture. Oh my god your poor friend must be beside herself. Such a shame.
mandco - you are doing great with your Christmas goodies. Some great deals also. Hope you feel okay today.
Hope I haven't missed anyone!
Off to order my DH that zombie book now.

Hi all, oh it's been too long since I managed to get on here! I have absolutely no hope of catching up as i've missed too many pages, so will start from here and say hi.
Well we're in our new house! There is so much to do and so many more boxes to unpack but we're enjoying it here. We now have to buy some furniture so we can actually unpack! It's very strange here as we're pretty much in the middle of a building site, the first houses to get occupied were at the start of the site so they can just drive in and they're home, but we literally have to drive into the middle of the site! We only have neighbours next door so far, so come 5pm the place is deserted! It's a bit strange but isn't ruining our enjoyment of the house.
Anyway amongst all of the chaos I have still managed to pick up a few Christmas presents so that is all ticking along nicely.
I'm sure i've missed loads, hugs to anyone that needs them. I'm sure i'll catch up if i've missed anything big! x0 -
Hi, so much going on and this months challenge just went over my head. I can blame my brain fog on my PA (this disease has its pluses). Will try hard next month.
We are cutting back this Christmas so we enjoy the time more but I did go a tad un mse and bought a beautiful wooden advent calendar, I looked at it as an investment and enjoying thinking of things to add to it as I really am sick of making crackers. Hope to have everything done by this weekend apart from the bits that are on preorder. x0 -
I've had a wierd unproductive day today !
My gardiner cancelled last night as he is unwell, today a parcel arrived i expected it to be my new slippers but no the lable outside was mine but the invoice and contents were someone elses order.
Then my smart meters were due to be fitted , the guy came but the fuse he needed to remove on the consumer unit had "welded" itself in place so i have to wait for Northern power grid to come out and sort it only then can i re arrange my appointment !.
On a possitive note the grass had its final cut today and we managed to put up the fence yesterday. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Congratulations on the move PRINCESSKITTY, I was wondering how it all went.
FREE Alison Cork was good wasn't she. I thought the TSV yesterday (the willow tree) was really good value but just wouldn't have anywhere to put it. This afternoon appears to be boring stuff but hopefully there will be something interesting this evening.
DOLLYROCKER I can't believe I'm virtually done either. I always start early but I've never finished before mid November before! You should def get the gingerbread candle, they're such good value and the smell is fabulous.
Went to Home Bargains today and the Christmas section is expanding into where the candles were. I had a minor panic but fortunately found them in a different aisle with the household stuff. Was lucky because I only go down that aisle when I want loo role or kitchen towel. Anyway, I got two more Gingerbread ones and an Apple and cinnamon so very happy. I also got a box of crackers to upcycle for the table on Christmas Day.
Oh and DH has made a cake so even happier lol.
DGD comes tomorrow until Thursday evening so really looking forward to that. Not sure how we're going to fit in everything we have to do in such a short time but will do my best. Amongst the normal bits we have to make a Stone Age or Iron Age dwelling and do some work on improving her maths or at least stopping her disliking it. I thought I'd start with money as that won't seem like maths so I'm going to get her to empty big pig (moneybox) with me and then do some work about different ways to make up a pound. Knowing DGD however she'll probably have lost interest once the pig is empty!
Two months today to Christmas Day folks, yay!!!It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Well after a very productive day I have 2 bags for the charity shop and 4 bags for the tip. I am still nowhere near finished! Am concentrating on downstairs first. Cannot believe how much rubbish we have collected. Have cleaned and scrubbed too. It feels so much better and cannot wait to get the whole house done, including the loft!
Managed to get DS to write a christmas list, its got books on it, clothes and one xbox game. Its a start so cannot complain. Off to start internet ordering lol xx
Dollyrocker- I can highly recommend the gingerbread candle, I love it.
Free- Of course I will PM you now xx I love hobbycraft xx
Princesskitty- Fantastic news that you are in and are loving your new house. Cannot wait to see your new house all decorated for christmas. So happy for you xxx
pinksteps- I too am eyeing up a wooden advent for us as a family, there are so many nice ones about at the moment x
chrissyg- Good grief what a day for you!! Glad you managed to put your fence up.
Peppa- Dont you just love those candles? I am going to go to HB tomorrow and stock up, I am sure i will come out with more than that lol x Sounds like a good plan to get DGD engaged with maths. Have fun xx
Hope everybody else is doing ok. Lots of nearly christmas sprinkles to everyone xx0 -
Evening,
I'm stil suffering in silence. My cold is still lingering and the sore throat is still here 2 weeks on.
Glad everyone else likes the gingerbread candles. Im at the end of my jar, and have another waiting and also got some of the smaller 69p size that i might burn and save the jar for December.
Looking forward to this weekend. The clocks go back, so an extra hour in bed :j and Christmas 24 starts on Saturday. Ive been watching on True xmas. There's a few good ones on there, but a lot are dated and not great really. christmas 24 usually have better ones.
Fiesty- I love the pic. Your wee one is gorgeous. Sounds like a lovely day. We have nothing like that here. But I'm taking the on a pumpkin trail in the local woods on Sat. It's usually a fairy trail, where they have fab wee fairy houses carved into the trees.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
That's a lovely pic FEISTY, she's growing up so quickly. Very sad news about your friend's brother and what a horrible time for your friend. Are the family on any benefits? I know if you're on certain means tested benefits you can get help with funeral costs. How horrible that she has to face this on top of the loss of her brother.
MANDCO I think it's usually the way, the children are desperate for a dog/rabbit/guinea pig/kitten and it's mum that ends up looking after them. I got the smaller of the hurricane vases too for the same reason as you.
TREASUREQUEEN the apple and cinnamon candles sound lovely, I'm going to pop into HB tomorrow and see if I can get any. I've got one gingerbread and a vanilla unopened and a gingerbread one that's about two thirds gone. I want to have enough to be able to burn them right up until Christmas.
Thank you all for your good wishes for DH. Thankfully he's been a lot better today so fingers crossed he'll have an even better day tomorrow.
I've nearly finished my stocking challenge so I'll be on time this month. The big news is that other than my mum and DH I'm finished and wrapped for Christmas. This is really early even for me, not quite sure what I'll do with myself now. Think I'll keep busy on the dolls house front or I'll end up buying more pressies!
Thank you Peppa, I will definitely check with her about the benefits xi have done it again, wrote a huge post but forgot to click on the submit button. Turned my computer on this morning and lost the post. When will I learn?
Mrs Moneypenny- Sounds like a lovely evening out. I too need to think about cards for the kids, I work with 4 different year groups though, good job I bought plenty of cards x I love car boot sales but hubby hates them! I used to love having a walk around them and finding bargains but now never have the time.
Peppa- Glad to hear your DH is feeling better today. I cannot wait to see everybody stocking challenge this month. I have really enjoyed doing the craft challenges x Well done to you honorary dd and her brother for the run x
mandco-I agree with you on the M&S biscuit tins this year, will have a look at boots x sending love xx
Fiesty- it looks amazing, can i move in please? Fantastic picture of you and little my xx such sad news about your friends younger brother. will remember the family in my prayers x
Gwendolyn- good choice on the jack wills bottle, I too am eyeing it up for my 14yr old.
TQ-The apple and cinnamon candles sound lovely, im going to have a good look at home bargains tomorrow. I have a list going!
missmoose- well done on picking up a few more stocking fillers for your hubby. A shame about the party x
Spendless- I am having a day of decluttering and cleaning as the house is heaving with stuff we do not use or need!
Free- i completely understand with the candles, i waited until I had used my YC before using my new candles. I have some YC votives left but they are going to my mum.
Vulpix- hope you have a wonderful holiday, dont worry about the deadline, just post your craft when its done xxx
Hubby surprised me with a lovely stay in a hotel on saturday, it was fantastic!
have ordered an adidas tshirt for son in JD sale, got 2 games for £20 at agrgos and saved £13. ordered a bop it for ds and cranium junior for dd.
Sorry if i have forgot you or repeated myself, got completely confused :rotfl:
I love the colour tooThe final cupboard is up!! But we will be waiting until I've finished this batch of orders before moving in lol
