Evening, jsut heading to bed soon as it's been a funny humid day, so I want to get the fan on and lie on top of the covers with the window open :D

Went to a bigger Tesco than my usual tonight. My girls saw the new Sindy range. They are now doing a large doll a bit like the Deignafriend, american girl style dolls. The dolls are bigger so the clothes won't fit I don't think, but they had loads of accesories like a sofa bed, hairdresser chair, handbags etc all so much cheaper than the Designafriend stuff. I will be going back after payday to pick up a few sets for both my girls.

Had a rubbish day at work. Looking forward to a long weekend next weekend, then the October holidays are only a few weeks after :T it's the only way I can get through the job each day .

    Morning :)
It's still miserable but balmy weather here, not ideal! Although some leaves were falling off the trees this morning so felt a little more like autumn
Not too much going on here...Last night I opened the festive yankee wax melts I got a few weeks back, DH thought I was slightly mad but I went with Angel Wings which isn't Christmas specific lol made the house smell lovely though!
Cherry I like the idea of shopping locally, I usually buy 90% of Christmas presents online but this year we're going to New York in November so I may have to endure the crowds and do some festive shopping
MandCo fingers crossed on the job. I wish I could get cheap pet food, sounds like a good deal! I recently picked up some Sheba because the convenience shop didn't have Felix/ Whiskers and the cat has now decided that's all she'll eat!
Hope everyone has a nice day...PS only 109 days to go :D

My DS and I are going to New York during the mid term break at the end of October. Make sure you fit in a visit to the Christmas shop in Little Italy

  • Good Morning All

Feeling a bit flat this morning - normal service has resumed with the rain - joy!

Clumsy42 - I hope your feeling better. I cant remember if it was your post that I read you had ME? The doctors have flitted ME and MS around with me for the last few years - I had a viral infection they think, that caused Labyrinthitis...but that is suppose to go within weeks and 3 years later Im still struggling from extreme fatigue, dizziness, heaviness, tinnitis, numbness of limbs/face on occassion etc....Ive had an MRI and that was all clear so they are a bit puzzled now.....

04624181 - it is surprising how much of a difference following the plan makes - I'm one of those people that likes lists and order so someone telling me what I should be doing does me the world of good. I did my hallway yesterday and it looks so much better already - I'm playing catch up though because that was week 1 - and current week 2 is the living room....which is ok but in my living room is a dreaded under-stairs cupboard which I haven't been in in 5 years :eek::eek:
I've started taking a vitamin too - I think my immune system needed a boost.

nic2075 - the Cindy's sound fab. My daughter got a DAF doll for her birthday Lucy and absolutely loves her so I might have a look at some of the accessories for her.

springdreams + elliew - Enjoy New York , myself and my husband are off to Hereford at the end of December for the Christmas shopping - we go ever year because we love the little town and it feels so festive.

Well Im not 100% sure of todays plan now with the weather since its raining....Im hoping to still go to the skip and get the wood and tumble drier away and gone......Then home and Im sure my day will be cleaning - although husband is off today as his rota'd day off so he could put stop to that and then Im working the next two days!
    Time to find me again

Awww that little door is stunning - I need to get over to the works near us to see if they have any in - if not I know our local market has them on their in their craft stall so I think I will get one this year for my little girl to enjoy.
they do free click & collect with no min spend so I usually order online

Sounds alot like me after years of them telling me they couldn't find/there wasn't anything wrong my new gp recently diagnosed me with fibromyalgia.

picked up some xmas bits in clintons they had a clearance section with the personalised money box baubles for 89p and these lovely silver personalised xmas charms for 14p. They had most of the names I needed and a couple of generic ones like special little boy which will do for the ones they didn't have. these ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Personalised-Charms-Christmas-Carousels-Carousel-Charm-Names-beginning-A-to-H-/331888468316?var=&hash=item4d4618215c:m:mrOUP4J6vD8AjFJQTcUTR_g

  • Hi Everyone,

Sammy_kaye - we are hoping to hire a skip next week and clear the cellar. Find it quite therapeutic to get rid of stuff. It's a nice feeling to have some space especially when you've been wanting to get rid for a while.

Springdreams and ellie - Lucky people, going to New York. I'm jealous :)

Clumsy - Well done on achieving your degree and on your clearout. I've been clearing rooms for the last few weekends and feel like I've been to the gym afterwards.

Murie - glad you had a lovely anniversary
04624181 - Happy anniversary - glad you had a nice time.

ellie - wish had some new candles, wax melts. I'm a bit obsessed with them. Regarding pet food, my cats are very fussy. Been trying to cut down on the price but they will only eat certain brands.

Princesskitty - Yes, it feels a bit like been stuck in limbo at the moment but at least we will be in the house for Christmas.
  • Morning lovely ladies :D
The sun is shining and we're on for a good weekend weather-wise. We're away for a long weekend with the family so fingers crossed it holds out :)
Sammy sounds like you've been very busy on the Christmas front - putting me to shame! hope your hours get sorted, couldn't think of anything worse than working weekends, especially in the run up to Christmas. I'm not sure I've encountered anyone that likes Alaska lol discovery channel seem obsessed with it too though! Your trip to Hereford in December sounds lovely and festive - pretty sure NY will be great but it's probably going to be a bit manic since we're there for Thanksgiving
Thank you Springdreams! I've added the link to my NY spreadsheet (yep I'm that cool  ) I'm so excited to go as I've never been before. Can't wait to see the Macy's parade, just like in Miracle on 34th Street :o
I've been sent 2 Christmas memes already this week by different people and my mum gave me a Grinch phone case when I saw her on Friday...I think the knowledge of my Christmas craziness has started to get round lol oh well :)
Hope everyone has a nice day, just one more day until the weekend :j
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:

  • Hi al!

I'm not sure if this is the right thread but you all seem like a friendly bunch so here goes!

I'm trying to be organised this Christmas and have decided to make my own alcoholic gifts. I'm a complete novice and a wally (not a good combination) and would appreciate any ideas. The idea of sloe gin appeals to me but my local trees are looking a bit sparse this year and I wondered if anyone has tried dried sloes? There's such a huge contradiction on the web as to whether they work and I'm loathe to spend money on gin that I'll then pour down the drain! any other easy ideas for alcoholic drinks would be fab!
    Thank you all. X

no idea re the sloes skittle vodka is the extent of my alcohol making skills.might be worth asking on the old style moneysaving section too as some pretty knowledgeable home made foodstuff folks over there.

springdreams & ellie NY how exciting esp in the run up to xmas. I'd love to go one day but can't see it happening anytime soon maybe when the kids are older and would appreciate it a little.

Ellie- our old cat was like that once he got taste of premium brand food he refused to eat anything else. Current cat has never eaten wet food I've tried lots over the years and he always refused it but he's quite happy to eat the puppies now
