evening all
The job interview/training went well thanks for all the goodluck wishes. I have to wait to hear back next week but they said they expect me to be offered it which would be great. fingers crossed.
chewy can finally see again though he came out looking fluffier than ever :rotfl:
while I was waiting for him I thought I'd pop to the shops and guess what I saw in £land? xmas stock they had several large trollies loads-They had just puting it out but on the shelf they had tinsel trees, frozen/starwars ceramic decs, character art sets
I had voucher for free chocs upto £10 so brought a box to put away for xmas- I was really really good and picked something I don't really like so I won't be tempted to eat them :A
Finally picked up my works order the fairy/elf door is great just need to decide on a design & paint it http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/craft-activities-for-kids/fairy-door/5052089170742.
The memory box isn't baddoes need a little sanding but overall not bad for the price http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/craft-storage/memory-box-frame/5052089170636 going to get the kids to decorate it and then fill it with photos for the grandparents as a personalised present.
I also got a treasure chest http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/craft-storage/wooden-chest/5052089159297 which is actually suprisingly good quality I'm going to use it for the xmas elves again need to decorate it but they would make great gifts filled with little giftsfor kids who love pirates ect
Also picked up a load of pet food rtc in asda packs of 8/12 pouches of cat food 50p, bags of treats 20p, single trays of dog food 12p even got a 24pk of whiskers for £2. All well in date my local one is just changing some stock so reduced all the no longer stocked stuff to clear quick.Going to donate a load to our local animal shelter at xmas- actually might do that as one of our xmas activities.
Taz manged to break several keys off the laptop :mad:so apologies for any misspellings or missing spacesthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Thanks mandco,i will be paying poundland a visit on Saturday.I was in the works last week looking for brown parcel tags(got em in poundland)and was impressed with their wooden boxes, fantastic value I thought.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Muriexxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Hope your not still decorating!

Morning
It's still miserable but balmy weather here, not ideal! Although some leaves were falling off the trees this morning so felt a little more like autumn
Not too much going on here...Last night I opened the festive yankee wax melts I got a few weeks back, DH thought I was slightly mad but I went with Angel Wings which isn't Christmas specific lol made the house smell lovely though!
Cherry I like the idea of shopping locally, I usually buy 90% of Christmas presents online but this year we're going to New York in November so I may have to endure the crowds and do some festive shopping
MandCo fingers crossed on the job. I wish I could get cheap pet food, sounds like a good deal! I recently picked up some Sheba because the convenience shop didn't have Felix/ Whiskers and the cat has now decided that's all she'll eat!
Hope everyone has a nice day...PS only 109 days to goI'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -

Sammy I am the same by the time I get round to eating some chocolates its either toffees or nut ones that are left, and I have a nut allergy. I will be making peppermint and orange creams and chocolate bark this year. to put in cellophane bags I got in the sale for gifts or in food hampers. I saw on pinterest yesterday candy cane and Christmas tree shaped bird seed feeders that you hang on trees with ribbon they look like a good idea. Could go in a garden hamper or with the bird table.
welcome to all newbies and returners. Peppa I love your chair its very festive, you have got a real talent there. Not that it would but it would look nice if Santa clause could sit on it in a grotto.
Murie I should think you were worn out with all the baking you did.
Nic2075 congratulations on the news, a December baby and a miracle:)
Princesskitty your advent activities list is really good I have pinched a few ideas. It looks like you are going to have a jam packed December.:)
Clumsy42 welcome back and congratulation on passing your degree :T
Princesskitty your kitchen looks great on your IG very sleek and modern.:)
Boots have some of their children's toys in their sale online if anyone is interested.
Lounge is a no go area due to decorating so I am stuck sat on a dining chair. Went to Glastonbury yesterday and my feet are killing me but it was worth it. Bake off tonight cant wait only thing is though it makes me so hungry.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -

mandco-glad the job interview went well. Sounds like you got some bargains at asda. I went in poundland today and they were just putting christmas stock out, I was so excited.
treasurequeen-I too am looking forward to bake off tonight.
Vulpix-i had to laugh when you described your lovely tan but white legs lol
eliiew8-Countdown is truly on now for christmas xx0 -
Just popping back on, paint brush in hand!
Why did we choose to start on the most humid day ? It was awful yesterday and today not much better. We had a wonderful 30th Anniversary decorating with friends and family popping in throughout the day. I do feel a bit bad though cus lil sis had some beautiful banners made for us and we have had some beautiful cards etc and I cant display them anywhere which is a real shame. Worst of all DH ordered me a some beautiful flowers which are sat in the middle of the dining table surrounded by all the stuff from the other room. We were so shattered we almost didn't go for our meal last night but we did and I'm glad as we had a lovely time. Still one room done just the dining room tomorrow and that's not as big. Then I can put my Alison Cork glitter twig tree up that Mom got us as part of our present!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! (DH isn't keen but hey ho- we also had a strimmer he can enjoy lol).
Happy Anniversary 04624181!!
Hope everyone is well and getting back on track now the kids are back to school.lovin' this site!

Finally picked up my works order the fairy/elf door is great just need to decide on a design & paint it http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/craft-activities-for-kids/fairy-door/5052089170742.
Awww that little door is stunning - I need to get over to the works near us to see if they have any in - if not I know our local market has them on their in their craft stall so I think I will get one this year for my little girl to enjoy.
My son has come home with about 6 pieces of homework - hes been in school 3 days so I have been sat looking through it today - my maths is shocking so I wasn't able to help him last year - thankfully the only subject his father passed is Maths! so we have everything covered just about.
I have spent today on the magical holiday home forum and looking up the holiday grand plan and cleaned the front porch and stairs as part of it - it really is helping me clean and get organised before christmas so I should have a good declutter before the festive season starts.
Still no christmas stuff brought or finished or even started :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I have however as part of the plan made a list and gotten my christmas card list in order. Hubby rang today and he has gotten himself 3 days of overtime in another branch so he gets £90 cash in hand and is paid about £100 for the day once he has taken his travelling time as overtime into account. Oh and we had a nice letter from HMRC today and we have been overpaying tax so thats £210 going back into his bank account.
Also I mentioned his sandblaster yesterday  he has managed to drum himself up some business whilst hes been in work and now has 4/5 things to blast as side projects to earn a few extra pennies so maybe it wont be such a bad investment.
Also I spoke to my manager today - since Ive been in Argos Ive worked every weekend and my mother in law looks after my kids if I am out of school hours. She also has her other 3 grandkids all week too (same - out of school hours) so my FIL wanted weekends free as their time - but Ive had to ask them to watch my kids on a Saturday and a Sunday - well I spoke to my manager today and he changed my Sunday for this week and is going to speak to the main manager for me about taking me off saturdays as long as I can work one a month (I have already said this to my manager that I struggle with childcare) so fingers crossed they can help me out a bit - as I love this job but the weekends are just hard work - its not even like Im an 18 year old wanting to go out drinking - I just have no one to watch the children!
Also Ive started on the advent list for the family. plus I have half sorted through my clothes upstairs for old stuff that I have outgrown - wont wear - ruined etc......so I might make some clothes with my sewing machine for my little girls Design A Friend Doll :-) so she can have some one of a kind outfits.
Happy Anniversary 04624181
Murie Twig tree sounds pretty - pictures please!
Treasure Queen - same here - nut and cherry allergy! joy!
elliew - i think its the hottest day Wales has seen in a while - I could barely stand outside to pin out washign earlier - whats going on??? Its making me more convinced that moving to the Yukon is a definite plan for me - Im obsessed with Alaska!
Mandco - fab idea with the pet rescue and good deals too
Oh and I forgot - my festive cupboard has officially started today - Tesco had their little boxes of their own stuffing reduced down to 20p so I brought 2 boxes and have given one to my MIL for her Xmas cupboard and stashed mine ready - I inevitably forget to get stuffing!Time to find me again0 -
Evening all!
Felt like I hadn't done anything remotely productive in months (think I'm in a post-degree slump) so I decided to clear out/clean my very limited hanging space in my wardrobe. Blinking heck was I exhausted afterwards. Even after all this time with the illness I still sometimes forget how limited my energy actually is. Oh well, it's done now.
Happy anniversary Murie and 0462! _party_
Treasurequeen - Thanks for the tip about Lakeland. Sat and went through it all. I really want the moon light! http://www.lakeland.co.uk/45255/Moonlight
Hoping to have lunch out with a friend on friday. Might have a look if any shops are getting christmas stock in while I'm out.
