Welcome to the thread BISHYBARNEYBEE. How about nail varnish if the boxes are big enough? There are people with great ideas on here (unfortunately I'm not one of them) so I'm sure you'll get lots of good suggestions. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
-
Thank you, that's a pretty good idea. The boxes are about twice the size of a matchbox so a nail varnish will fit perfectly. I was thinking of sending off for some free samples of make-up etc, not quite sure where to go for these so I think a 'Google' is on the cards.0

A couple of people have used cosmetic and skin care samples in Christmas hampers so I'm sure they'll be able to tell you where they got them. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

welcome bishybarneybee what size are the draws & whats dd into?
for dd I usually go for things like mini nail polishes, hair bits, trial/travel sized toiletries, makeup, mini perfumes samples ect- look out for free samples too
04624181 congrats to you sister.
I hate the school shoe shop even more this year as ds needed proper shoes as he'd been able to wear black trainers at his old school and isn't impressed so hated everything. Its cost a small fortune in uniform this year with ds moving up and taz starting school  thankfully I only need shoes for taz now but as he's between sizes and he doesn't start for a few more weeks I'm going to wait till a bit closer for those.
Numpty that I am after spending far longer in the opticians than I expected too I totally forgot to pickup my works order  and not sure when I'll be able to pick it up now.
I've got the dentist tomorrowhate going at the best of times and been putting it off since the last trip as really not happy with the treatment I've received so far but its still giving me grief so really need to get it sorted just dreading them making it worse again. So that's more expense on both fronts that I hadn't budgeted for why does everything always end up being needed at the same time?
4 months todayits coming round quickly now
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Mrs I- my DH is a real techno geek but his one true desire would be a mobile that just makes/receives calls- no txts, no email no internet = nothing but a good old phone call!! Fingers crossed you will get one that you can hear.
Newthrift- glad you managed to squeeze some time for yourself.
Mandco- I know THAT feeling!
04624181- massive congrats to your sister!
Peppa- have you found 'the' fabric yet?
BBB- (cus Im too lazy to type it all out!)- I do adult advent calendars for 6 people (used to be 7 but DS spilt with his long term girlfriend this year). I collect loads of freebies throughout the year, look on freebies board. At the mo there is a offer at Body Shop through facebook for a face mask.if you download Vouchercloud app there is a code for a free nail varnish- you have to go into store for both of these. Off the top of my head Chanel have given away free sample mascaras recently and Haig whisky have given away some small bottles of their whisky (which apparently tastes awful but has a lovely blue bottle lol). Charlotte Tilbury are giving away small perfume samples and Jo Malone have a facebook deal where you have to explore London and you get a free sample of her new scent. Phew that's a lot! I love collecting bits and pieces for them but as I do so many the stuff does take up space (which I can ill afford thanks to the flipping pizza oven - long story!). And I detest wrapping them all!! Those are a few current ones that you can dip into. Hope it helps.
I have just this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5510471- don't know if you could make use of this ?
Free- U ok?
Today I got a corded stick vacuum that converts into a handheld for DDs BF. It was advertised on HUKD in Asda for £20. I had to ask and the assistant said there was one out the back. A while later I noticed she was telling the other assistants- and the ones she had replenished the shelf with disappeared! I was pleased I got mine though- that's the first present for him as he is always using DS's to clean his car.
I haven't looked at QVC today- from what Peppa says I haven't missed anything.lovin' this site!

Many thanks for your detailed reply, really appreciate you taking the time. I shall let you know how I get on.0

See BBB (think I'm gonna use the abbreviation too
), I knew someone more helpful than me would be along soon.
MURIE I was thinking about the fabric last night when I suddenly realised how near we are now to the end of the month:eek: I must get DH to cut out the extra seat base for me. I've seen some lovely Christma fabric but I really need non Christmassy as my plan was to do the painted seat with festive writing. I'm hopeless, too much thinking and not enough doing. Must get my skates on! Great ideas for BBB by the way :T. I def don't think you missed anything on QVC. I think I'm going to make sure I do something Christmassy on the 25th of September, October and November - I'll have my own Countdown to Christmas
MANDCO, will be sending you good vibes for the dentist - hope they can sort it out quickly so you don't have to keep going back. I know the feeling re the Works order, I often go out with the intention of doing something in particular and then find myself back at home having done lots of other things but not the one I went out to do!
Right, I must get on with my jingle bells challenge although I do feel like I'm cheating as I'd already started the chair. Maybe I should do something else. I'm determined to meet the challenge so will be very focussed over the next six days! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
HotUKDeals has a freebie section - they have some great bits and bobs and better than google.0

Thank you all for the congrats for my Sister. She is beyong relieved. We were on Bury Market crying and hugging when she met me to share her results. All she kept saying was I have passed my Maths. She was so worried she would fail it.
Peppa- the make up brushes are fab I will post a https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B019XK58BI/ref=twister_B019XK58A4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Mandco- school uniform is so expensive. I bought my sons pe kit today. A top, shorts and football socks = 40 quid!!Then a pair of school shoes each and some PE pumps for DD came to just under 100 quid.
Murie-sounds like a good deal with the vacuum.
BBB-welcome and sounds like a lovely idea to fill the advent drawers. Will Xmas choccies fit in, like maltesers reindeer, chocolate coins. Maybe fill a few up with them. Pound land and pound world do some good make up brands. You can get sally Hansen, Maybelline etc x
Free hope you OK xxx
Fiesty- sending love to you all xx0 -
BBB do you have/know an AV*N rep? they are good to tap up for samples. Also the make up sections in the department stores, single sachets of hot chocolate, Christmassy fruit tea teabags, pretty Christmas tree ornament (hand made and personalised obviously, lol) A little letter from mrs Christmas, telling her something nice, or a letter from the elves telling her they have just wrapped her present(s), pair of Christmas socks, small tin or box, wrapped up, labelled ''10 minutes of me time, use regularly'' or similar, coffee and creamer sachets, just a few totally random ideas, hope they help.0
