Managed to squeeze myself a little time earlier and re-designed and printed out the sections for my Christmas folder and have also put it back together (+bonus I found my gift list:j) only section I forgot to print was food which isn't so bad this year as I'm not cooking but will still print out anyway. Would really like to do a few Christmas bakes as gifts.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

PRINCESSKITTY just drop in when you can, it's always nice to see you :)

CHRISSEY, hope you managed to get the order done without DD seeing. I was having an iMessage conversation with DD the other day about getting a baby elf (Rosie elf is coming with a baby this year) and had to remind her to delete all the messages in case DGD (7) sees them! She can use the iPad and reads very well - would hate the elf magic to be ruined before it really has to be.

MURIE poor Bailey/Miley is definitely having gender issues. Bless him, he's just a late developer ll. Hope they haven't gone next time he goes to the vet! PINKSTEPS loving the Dave/Sharon story :rotfl:

Welcome back BLOOMINGTASTY hope to see more of you from September.

NEWTHRIFT it'll be an emotional weekend but hope you all enjoy your family time.

NITNURSE Your past did make me chuckle, I hadn't thought of that. I think you're right, better to stick to the four letter abbreviation, we don't want any misunderstandings :rotfl::rotfl:

MANDCO I've always found the Works stuff to be quite good. I bought four slate hearts from them for £1 each with free p+p and they were fab. I bought some vinyl letters from eBay and made memorial plaques for our much missed pets. I've got them on a fence list in the garden and if I say so myself (and I do lol) they look good. Hope your things are good quality too.

0462 enjoy your time off with DH. Good luck with the school shoe shopping, not something I miss I must say.:D

Thanks for the reminder LAZYSHEEP. Unfortunately I'm still very cross with QVC over the garden chairs fiasco so on principle I won't be able to watch. I used to love the countdown to Christmas although the past couple if years it's been a let down. All the toys and must if the decs I've seen so far this year are the same as last year. Must do better QVC!

I'm up late tonight. Had a nice day and rested this afternoon so I'm not really tired. Still must go to sleep soon. I've bought two things on FB selling sites that will be part of Christmas pressies. One is a lovely little round case, ten inches across, in a red and white spot (very Cath Kidston) which I'll put some smellies in for eldest DGD and a smaller box decoupaged in Cath Kidston guards and friends paper that I shall put something in for her mum (it's DDs favourite CK design) so feeling very pleased with myself on the Christmas front today. Oh and I've decided postage costs won't count towards the £10 limit we set for the adults' pressies.

Apologies if any if this post seems odd, it's the blooming iPad deciding it doesn't like what I've put and changing the words to various random ones that don't make any sense at all. I think I've corrected them all but may have missed a few.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Old age and poverty takes its toll!!! Another reminder of advancing age arrived yesterday in the disguise of a new mobile phone......... Apparently it does everything but bath the baby, but l will never know, because the blasted volume control only goes from whisper to mumble, hope they honour their 14 day return/exchange promise.
Peppa, pants about your neutrophils hope for better news for next weekxxx
Oh, Murie you did make me chuckle with your 'grown a pair' comment. hope the gender issue is not a problem for him.
Mandco pick your own is a lovely activity, and strawberries are lush right now. Hedgerow picking also, is fulfilling, free blackberries, sloes, damsons, crab apples, elderberries, and so on, so lucky where l live, they are all easy to get. Glass jars are at a premium just now!

  • I have a HUGE conundrum!

A few days ago, a friend posted a status on FB. I replied then got a PM saying that I should not have replied! It is a cancer awareness game at the moment and I had to post one of the status options, with nothing added & then send the same message to anyone who replied. There were a number of options, but idiot went with "I've been accepted on Masterchef".

I have been inundated with replies & congratulations  3 had the sense to phone me, but how the heck do I say I have not applied, I hate reality programs and I would probably hit Greg Wallace if I did appear:rotfl:

Hiya my christmas lovelies, how are we all doing? Feels like an age since I was on here last. Been spending time with the family. Survived the school shoe shop. All we need now is a school bag for DS but he is still undecided. DD and I are Off to the Trafford Centre with my sister and mum tomorrow. We are celebrating my sister GCSE results. She passed them all and is into college to do her A levels. We are super proud of her. Going to collect my parcels from Monsoon and zara too. Managed to pick a solar powered lighthouse up for my dad at b&M reduced from £9.99 to £1.99. He will love it and it will go with his garden hamper I am trying to make. My make up brushes arrived for amazon and they are fantastic for £2.80!
I tried to catch up with all the posts but the page moves too quickly and it would be a mammoth post so Hugs to everyone who needs them x

Ha ha MRSINVISIBLE, wouldn't it be nice though to have a phone that just does the basics but does them well!

Welcome back 0462 and well done to your sister. Those make up brushes sound like a bargain.

GTQ I hate those sort of posts, hope you can get it sorted so your friends know you're not going on master chef lol. I wouldn't have that problem - nobody who knows me would believe I'd get on anything to do with cooking lol.

Have had a couple of sneaky looks at QVC Christmas today even though I said I wouldn't. It only convinced me I'm not missing anything though. :D

  • Hello, I am very happy to have stumbled upon your thread as it looks great fun. I would love to pick your brains if it's not too cheeky of me. I have one of those refillable wooden advent calendar thingys that I picked up from Hobbycraft. This seemed a good idea at the time but I am trying to think of items to fill it with suitable for my 25 year old daughter, don't want to take the easy route and go for too many chocolates and also want to keep it fairly inexpensive (max £1 per item if possible). Would anyone have any ideas? I would be so grateful, thanks.
