Those HP machines have a Whitelist. Intel or ATI processor?
Hi NiftyThanks, I have windows 7 32 bit installed
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 CPU T56000 -
I think that I already dealt with this machine a while ago wherein we removed the whitelist, in so that you could use generic parts without experiencing an error code.
Did we?0 -

No, Nifty, You helped me install windows 7 on this machine.
I have had no other problems with this, only now with a new battery i bought.
It was my ACER aspire you helped me with, you helped me with the BIOS and all the other problem

I thought that I did both at the same time with the HP, as it's a known issue with older HP and IBM machines. So whilst updating the BIOS one removes the whitelist at the same time. Did we update the BIOS on the HP?0 -
You can do it again, but I don't know if the Flasher works with Windows 7 and can't test it beforehand.
BIOS update with whitelist removed is here...if we haven't run this before.
Unzip to the folder within, run as Admin by right clicking on the application and follow the instructions. BIOS updates are not without risk, especially when run through the operating system.0 -

I really cannot offer any guarantee. I haven't ever run it through Windows 7. On the other hand I think that it might be the solution to your issue.0
