It was never evenings - it was only weekends.

Now you either go PAYT with no inclusive calls or pay £4pm for E&W.

Are you sure about that ?? When I was with BT for phone only, before switching to Plusnet in 2012, I did cost comparisons ,and I thought that they all offered packages inc. E/Weekend calls ??

Didn't some legacy customers get free evening calls ?

Anyway, that is why I like EE. Pay £5 and get Anytime calls (some restrictions), and 1000 minutes to mobiles per month.

I joined Sky in October 2013, leaving BT who gave legacy free weekend and evening calls (but not to new customers). Sky had just discontinued an evening call inclusive package (though a few seem to have been offered it since, it still being in the literature sent out),replacing with free weekend calls or £5 Anytime option. Anytime still worked out cheaper than BT, especially with a low upfront line rental charge .

On considering annual moves, since, I have noticed the gradual removal of 'free' evening and then weekend calls from many providers.

The evening calls were stopped in 2012 sometime. It might still have been available for legacy products though.
  • Evenings and weekends were free for people who had stuck with the sky talk freetime package which was available until 1st December.
