claimed £10 from shop and scan, a leisure voucher, so hubby can go free at legoland, hopefully..... if I earn enough for the summer.

also got my cheque from Eon last week, forgot i hadn't added it, so £68

Sorry for the late reply Aesop. Thought I'd pop on to say a belated Happy New Year and glad you've received our cheque okay. Well done, too, on smashing the December challenge. I'm sure you'll do the same this month as well.

Congrats again to you and everyone else who achieved or beat the December target. :j

  • Oh I'm glad you popped in Malc as I have a question. I just completed my switch to Flow energy and made first payment to them last week. I can still access my e-on account online (for some reason) and see that I am £76.30 in credit. Do I need to do anything or will this be refunded to me automatically? If so how long would that take?

Ooooh good day for me today - just sold a pair of boots i have relisted a dozen times on ebay. Am so pleased as i was planning on relisting them as an auction for £4.99 to try and clear them out. I got £19.11 for them after fees so a nice little boost! £290.56 in account now :D

Still debating over the mortgage payment atm, might wait until the end of the month, but if i get tempted to spend it on silly stuff i will pay it sooner.

Hi lexbubbles. I'll be happy to help.

Have you had our final bill yet? If you have, are the closing meter readings the same as those used by your new supplier to start their account? If you've had the bill and the readings match, you don't need to do anything. The credit balance will be refunded automatically. If there's a live Direct Debit on the account, we'll refund straight to your bank. If not, we'll send a cheque. Final balance cheques are usually sent within a couple of weeks of the closing bill.

If you haven't had our final bill, thought it might help if I give a brief description of what happens when you change supplier. It's the responsibility of the new supplier to let the old supplier have the meter readings they intend to use to open their account. The old supplier will use the same readings to close their account and send a final bill. This is to make sure the same energy isn't charged twice.

Electronic messages pass between the two suppliers and certain third parties like the regional distributors, meter operators, meter readers and national databases etc. These messages let all those involved with your energy supply know about the changed circumstances. One of the messages concerns the readings. These come to us via a third party who check they're in line with past usage for the property. From here, final bills are usually issued within 2 weeks. As you're an online customer, we'll send an email once the bill is ready. Once all has gone through, you'll still be able to log in to your online account and see what happened during your time with us.

Sorry you're leaving lexbubbles and hope this helps explain what happens. Let me know if you need any more information. Always happy to help.

  • Thanks malc!

Flow did ask for meter readings last week but since my meter is inaccessible (only one person in the building has a key to the cupboard so you have to catch her at home) I only got it to them today, so I assume I'll get a bill soon from you guys. I'd have stayed but I was on the special MSE tariff last year, and my bill was about to jump up by £15, whereas flow offered the same amount I was paying before. I spoke to an e-on rep on the phone but they weren't able to continue with the price I had been paying.

    Just sold another £6 on ebay: £203.48 / 310 (10.71 / day)

I'm sure you'll make money, Harleyquinn, if you copy some of the ideas Aesop put in the first posts and those that other challengers have added as we've gone along:T

    Good Luck:beer:
