Struggling to contact seller

  • But when I ordered on the 10th December and the listing states 21st December for last orders for Xmas how can the seller not realise a red and gold bouquet of ferrero rocher is not for Xmas?

I understand that ebay put estimates for deliveries but I fail to see how my order can be nothing other than an Xmas gift and the seller has never once contacted me or answered any of my messages.

  • Just looked and they are not a business seller. They also state no returns.

Again though, the delivery estimate from ebay suggests that this was always likely to be this late, just because someone is still selling doesn't mean that they assume everything they sell is definitely for Christmas. The ebay estimate is set according to the time seller states for dispatch (plus in my case ebay seem to shave at least a day off of that as well)

I confess that I have my listings off entirely for this reason, I might not necessarily be selling things for Christmas day but I can't always expect my buyers to realise that.
Fair enough to close them off close to Xmas but surely not as early as Dec 10th as you'd be missing out on a lot of Xmas sales!

I can't understand the delivery estimate being two weeks later either, not within the UK. You are supposed to list with a max of two days dispatch time and anything longer is regarded as an 'Exception'. Those who take longer to dispatch usually say something in their listings.

I managed to sell some stuff that was much cheaper from China and with free delivery, I guess it was because they wanted it for Xmas and didn't want to wait.
Also I am sure the seller knows this is an Xmas gift as it is wrapped in red and gold and specifically states Xmas gifts in the listing. It also says order before 21st December for Xmas delivery.

I ordered in plenty of time on 10th December. Surely you can see why I am getting concerned?
No, still saying not dispatched. No tracking either.

Gutted to be let down as i ordered on 10th December.

    Oh well :(
You mention Hermes somewhere. When you (as a seller) import your eBay parcels into Hermes, they are automatically marked as dispatched on eBay. That doesn't mean they were actually dispatched the same day as you may have booked collection for the next day or dropped them off at the Parcel Shop. Unlike the Post Office, I don't see anything on the Hermes labels saying how long you have to use them. If the seller didn't use the import feature then they wouldn't be marked as dispatched unless they did it manually, but why would they? All rather strange!

There are still sellers trying to sell items for Christmas stockings at nearly 5pm on the 24th!

I had to look up what it was you are buying (they look very nice) and I notice that most of the business sellers suggest upgrading to special for a guaranteed delivery. Otherwise your seller was obviously not in touch with MyHermes as their last posting date for Christmas was last week so if they are expecting MyHermes to guarantee a Christmas delivery on purchases made as late as the 21st they must be very confused.

  • In the listing it states they are dispatched by Hermes.

Now I would be concerned, a business seller wrongly registered always strikes me as slightly dodgy- I think you would have done better sticking to a business seller who understands the postal systems.

There is no requirement to list with a 2 day dispatch, sellers are warned that anything longer than 3 days is exceptional (by which I believe them to mean unusual) but it is absolutely fine to do so. To buy something on the 10th with an estimated delivery of the 24th suggests at least an 8 day dispatch was shown on the original listing

  • I am usually more on thd ball but unfortunately had 2 ulcers on the surface of my eye which meant I was struggling to see and very light sensitive.

I do online grocery shopping and we ended up with a few strange items that week :)

Just gutted somebody would do this when I paid straight away and they left feedback too.

I cannot go out to get anything else as I am now laid up with a bad kidney infection :(

    Anyway, lesson learned.

Wasn't the item bought on the 10th to start with?
