It might be worth using an on-line agent as they are much cheaper and I've read good reports about them. Try searching the forum for more posts about them.
It's a sad time selling a parent's house and feeling over charged by an estate agent doesn't help.0 -
I got my epc for £55 via the internet. Someone came out in 3 days. cheaper than using the estate agents. I looked on the govt website for recommended epc assessors and when I rang the first few numbers it was numbers of the local estate agents obviously on the website just the persons name was quoted. Saved a bit of money there. I am using online estate agents and if I have to give my house away I don't see why I am going to pay a high street estate agent so much money. That's my philosophy anyway.0

I've looked at Just EPC on the internet and it's £50 all in, presumably their certificate is as valid as one costing more than twice as much?0

As long as it's done by a reputable company that's fine. estate agents obviously add their cost into the equation, hence why their fees are higher. Originally I went through an estate agent and gave details of my epc. No problems.0

Hiya Everyone, :)A really interesting and valuable topic. Does anyone know of a good online estate agent. We've had two agents out, one local corporate, and a valuer from an online agent. Both gave exactly the same valuations, and after haggling I've got one of them down by almost £1500, this from agents and solicitors. I would appreciate the info very soon, because I'm dying to move.:j0

I got a letter through the post from a online estate agent offering there services. I thought it was to good to be true, i currently had my house on the market with a local estate agent for around 6 months and had four viewings. I thought i would give them a try i called them up and they give me information about the different packages they offer. I worked out that i could actually save myself £2340 by using them. I chose the Option 1 package paying upfront £399 and they did everything from photo, floor plans and arranged the viewings. The only draw back was that i had to do the viewing which they did tell me at the start. In the first week i had three viewings, by week three i had an offer, £1000 under the asking price which i accepted, happy days. I think this will be the future on selling homes as its cheaper and they where more proactive maybe i was just luck as there are a few online estate agent but sellahouseonline.co.uk was the one i used.0

Hi i used sellahouseonline they where good but there are couple of others just type into google sell you home online it brings up a few online estate agency. I recommend giving a few a call well worth it when you compare the price of a local agent and with the experience i have had with them they were unless and kept on hassling me to lower my price again and again.0
