Prescription medications are exempt from the 100ml rule. You will need to take evidence of this from your doctor.£2 Savers Club #156!

Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -

Agreed. We had a family friend travelling with us who was diabetic and had 2 weeks supply of liquid insulin in a mini freezer bag. It was no problem at all, security called someone who scanned it and weighed it and then handed it back.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. What constitutes evidence?
Item will have dispensing label on.
Do I need gp letter (which I guess I'd need to pay for)
Or white repeat slip?0 -

If they are prescription only medicines the fact you have them should be evidence in itself. If it is something you can buy over the counter they may require some evidence that you medically need it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I'm another who has had no problems with over 100ml of insulin and other medication in hand luggage.
My doc advised i bag it apart from any other liquids/meds, Take the pharmacy labeled box and have a copy of my repeat sheet - which listed all medications plus her letter handy. She didn't charge for the letter.
So far, I've only had the letter/repeat docs checked once. Every other time, its gone through with barely a glance.0 -
It's from the dispensary and can technically be purchased too. But I have it on repeat.
I'll have to consider attempting to try this for the first time next month. Hopefully it doesn't get stopped once I've paid for the trip.0 -
If your items have the prescription details on them there shouldn't be any problems as long as you also bring the white slip with you. Put the medication in a separate tray to go through the X-ray and tell the staff member that it's medication. People travel like this all the time without hassle. Parents of babies can bring milk etc for baby without prescription so you shouldn't have any problems.0

To add to Caz2131's post, this is what Gov.UK says:

Thanks all.
So normally I take a rucksack as hand luggage with valuables such as camera and wallet and documents etc.
Can I still take a rucksack but 1 piece of hand luggage with meds and clothing for a short haul flight?0 -
From the link above:You’re allowed to carry essential medicines of more than 100ml in your hand luggage,
It may depend on what the airline you're flying with says about number of pieces of hand luggage.0
