  • Thanks for adding me, looking forward to getting started! :)

    1. A a newb I am going to aim for 21 days

    2.
I want to clear my highest interest credit card in January so plan to make a considerable and challenging payment when I get paid from what is remaining after priority spends. Then hopefully I will be able to spend even less and pay off even more towards the end of the month.Fingers crossed!

    3. My main aim for January is to pay off my highest interest credit card and still end the month without running out of money. I have committed to paying it off and have given it to my partner for safekeeping so I can no longer use it. I shall no longer spend outside of my means!

4.Will check in regularly and where possible every day

    5. I plan to sponsor my friend who is climbing the 3 peaks for Alzheimers Society

    6. Still need to plan my diary for January. I can see a couple of potential nights out that need to be considered!

    7. I always write a list but will also aim to use up things that are already in my cupboards and reduce spend

    8. Will see what I can do!

    9. Loving 'side hustles' - I have a few items of furniture I can sell if I finish upcycling my replacement ones. Will have a think of other ways to make money too...any ideas welcome!

    10.
Checked and all good : )

  • Hi,

    Could I please join?

I am aiming to pay off all of my debt by May (£4.494.55 in total-Eeeekkk!) as I would love to buy a house this year.

I am aiming for 21 NSD's. I have just bought myself a lot of cross stitch projects to do which will last me ages so I should be kept busy!

    Thanks
    Emma

  • Please can I join. Each month I try and something always gets in the way. I have streamlined my accounts so I have one current account, one account for paying the bills - transfer money in each month, one personal credit card and one credit card for food, household, petrol which I pay off each month. Then there are the two biggies - credit cards on 0% interest- to which I am paying the minimum each month. I try to pay an extra amount to at least one of the biggies. By March my monthly accounts/cr cards will be at nil at the end of each month. I have started an emergency fund paying in £10 per week as I get my pension weekly, and my two work pensions come in around the 25th monthly, so I have to pay to my debts each week. I have two adult daughters living with me who contribute to the household account monthly and we have two delightful dogs.
I am aiming to have 15-21 nsd as I have to get into the habit of doing this.
I sponsor a guide dog for the blind puppy monthly at £8pm, but also contribute to other charities where I can.
My food etc budget for all of us will be £350 for January and petrol£100.
I meet with a group once a month for carers (I am one) which costs £2 for lunch and raffle which takes us out on days out, and I meet each Wednesday with my pain management group friends for lunch where I usually spend about £7, I don't want to not go to this as there is always a listening ear when I need one from the members of the group. I will always do these two social events.
Apart from going to see Star Wars with my daughter, that is my going out for the month.
I want to reduce my debts as much as possible in 2016, as I don't like having them around my neck.
There is a strong possibility that I will downsize from a four bedroom property to a smaller one in 2016 which may mean that I can use some equity to pay off the credit cards.
So menu planning, using up what we have - we didn't go overboard at Christmas so no leftovers- and not wasting anything is the plan.
I hope I can finally succeed in completing a month as a turtle and when I roll over and can't get the shell the right way up I know there are lots of you who will help me.
Can't post until Saturday 2nd, as I am visiting my eldest daughter and her family from tomorrow(today)
I wish everyone a happy new year and may all of our dreams come true in 2016, Dottydaisy

Hi Bob please, please May I join? Mainly because I have a £2,500 debt that I want to get rid of, and need to cut out any expenses in January.

I will definitely need help from these lovely people, as I have no less than 5
birthdays in January! Don't know what gifts to give that won't cost a penny!
Any ideas will be gratefully received. :)
