    ...
We launched over 2 years ago, but yes. We're very happy with how things are going :)
I won't seek to disagree with you, as hopefully you know your buiness better than me.
I got my details from moneywise who wrote an article on 19 May 2016 and claimed you "Launched this week..."
    https://www.moneywise.co.uk/news/2016-05-19/bulb-the-new-provider-the-energy-block-how-does-it-stack
It's also only fair for me to point out that a ponzi scheme requires participants to invest and inherently creates no value. This is the complete opposite of what we do. We provide value by being an affordable green energy supplier with good customer service. And there is no investment to join or barrier to leave if you don't like us since we don't have contracts or exit fees. We just prefer to give our marketing budget to our members than to big advertising companies.
I would argue the investment new customers have to incurr is the high price of the energy you provide ... hoping for a windfall cashback later.
Be honest, there is no way this is going to be possible for all now, is there.
We can afford to have such a generous referral scheme because our members stay with us a lot longer than other suppliers

This is a wind up, eh? How can you possibly claim this otherwise.
Whether you have been going 18 months, or 2 years you prefer, I have been with my current gas provider for longer than that. Why? Because they are constantly the cheapest ... and don't waste £100's each on getting others to join them
We can't afford £200 per switch full time, but we can for a week or so.

I'm sure that will instill us with lots of confidence.
Were you ever a double glazing saleman?

Let's be honest. The truth is more like, get in now, quick, before this Ponzi scheme collapses completely

A look at the referral thread on this site alone, indicates the vast majority are brand new MSE users (so at least you will keep MSE Martin happy with all those new user accounts being created)

But the question has to be, why have you not pursuaded any long established MSEers? (Rhetorical question)
Perhaps it's because they consult a comparison site and find the best deal for them (taking MSE Martin's strong urge to avoid making that decision in connection with any possible cashback)

Our first customers joined us on 27th August 2015. From then until May 2016 we learned a lot about how we wanted to run our energy company, and we fixed mistakes we'd made along the way. We then held a "launch party" in May 2016 as a way of announcing that we were pulling our socks up and were ready to take on the world.

Our prices are ~£270 cheaper than the Big 6 standard tariffs and only £37 more expensive than the absolute cheapest. While you seem to value price above all else, other people value other things, like customer service and greenness.

It would be an excellent problem for us to have such a high market share that people literally cannot recommend Bulb any more, but that's a very long way off.

We measure our weekly, monthly and annual churn and use that to measure customer lifetime.

  • Some real cynics on here, Hi Footguy!

I am a long standing member of this site and changed to Bulb when the BG collective ended. Very happy so far and cannot lose with no contract. If Bulb continue to give me good service and a keen price I'll be happy, if not I move.

    Hi bobstheboy! :)

You are, by Bulb's own admission, losing £37 per year. ;)

With no early exit fees to worry about, why not ditch and switch today to that cheaper supplier? :money:

    Yep.

We launched over 2 years ago, but yes. We're very happy with how things are going :)

200k is 0.7% of the UK energy market. There is plenty of space for us to continue growing.

It's also only fair for me to point out that a ponzi scheme requires participants to invest and inherently creates no value. This is the complete opposite of what we do. We can afford to have such a generous referral scheme because our members stay with us a lot longer than other suppliers. Our profit margins per year are a lot lower than other energy companies, but each customer spends many more years with us, so it all works out.

We can't afford £200 per switch full time, but we can for a week or so.

    Yep. :)
Your Comms team sounds like fun :)

    Thanks, Comms69.

And it is. Partly because when I was writing our Tone of Voice guidelines I explicitly stated that dad jokes are completely on brand :)

Apologies if this has already been asked, but does the £100 referral bonus apply to a dual fuel switch only?

I'm thinking of switching, but for electricity only.

Elec only can get £100 too. Any domestic switch gets the full referral bonus if they join through a friends link.
