    Morning all.

    Lovely flowers, Narc0 :)

DH has also started coughing and splattering so we are drinking a very early cuppa.

DD arrived with DGS 1+2 yesterday afternoon. They had fun decorating our tree, which now has piles of presents under it, and I've put out a few other decorations too, so we are beginning to look festive even if we don't feel 100% fit. I've asked DS 1 for some holly from his hedge.

I need to pop into town early to get more light bulbs for the bathroom and maybe some more outside lights for the garden railway - fingers and everything else crossed that it is dry enough to run the trains today ;)

DS 1+2 and their families are coming over mid-morning and we shall have an easy festive lunch of jacket potatoes, cheese, beans, sausages and salad bits, followed by hm Christmas pudding / jelly/ ice cream / custard / lemon pudding in whatever combination is preferred :rotfl: DD and DGS 1+2 are going to her father's for tea. I have no idea whether any of the others will stay for a meal with us, but if they do, it will be mince and pasta - I don't have the energy to think up anything fancy today!

Tomorrow brings near-normality with DD & co returning home, the SW Christmas party, and time to write the last few cards for hand delivery, as well as the usual washing and tidying - but I'm not thinking that far ahead yet.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all. Thanks for last week bossy, thanks for this week Natty. I hope you have handed your family the list and are resting as instructed!

DH switches to nights tonight so I won't see him really until mid-morning Christmas Day. He says he's going to stay up, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm planning to run a 5k!

Need to get him to clear dining room though so I can lay up for Boxing Day (our Christmas). Also remove all breakable objects - 3 year old descending.

Off to walk the furry, then crack on (quietly as DH in bed). Beds to make and a quick dust then I can close the spare rooms and they are ready for guests other than flowers (on the list for Xmas Eve!)

Hope everyone is managing to stay calm. piggers calming vibes heading your way.

  • Bossy Dh used to press his tongue against his force it to drain a bit then gargle with salt water. Might be worth a try. I do hope it clears soon I know how much discomfort his gave. I will offer light at the end of the tunnel that since he had the tooth removed no more probs at all. In fact the assess calmed right down once he started with the salt water.

Just given the loung a quick S&S and am sorting the basket into iron and non iron ready for when I get back. Will deal with a bit of post now so I can bung it in a box while I'm out.
