In the back of my mind I sort of knew about those embargoed countries but it is a trap I could easily fall into. In the past I've sold books and the occasional stamp and haven't checked the country list. Even now with a random assortment of antique items I could so easily trigger a warning by mentioning the wrong country- it is quite scary.

I was selling some antique drawknives once on ebay - for those who don't know, they are 2 handled edged tools for shaping wood, similar to a spokeshave.
Some got removed, presumably for containing the word knife, but others just got left.
No logic!0 -

I am currently sorting some stamps that I was going to list after Christmas. Some of the stamps are from these embargoed countries.
My listing for a train ticket (valid date, unused) on Virgin train was pulled.0 -
After my prescription changed I tried to sell a couple of new boxes of contact lenses. These were pulled as 'medical equipment' and I was warned.
I also wasn't allowed to give them away on Freecycle.
However, I was able to sell them locally on Gumtree, so at least they didn't go in the bin.0 -
