9 days late wouldn't be treated as a formal ARP just sounds like a late payment.

if i could upload or get advise on how to up load a picture of credit report you would see what i mean, its defo a AP

Is what they recorded factually accurate? Could you have paid on time and thus avoided them reporting the situation?

no i couldnt there was no way of me being able to pay on time that's why i rang them to inform them, as i didn't want a late payment on credit report, and though by me letting them know i needed the extra time would of stopped this happening but im guessing i should of took the late payment now and not bothered ringing them:(

Why are you trying to hide the truth from lenders?
the truth is there to see but for the sake of 9 days its not fair that im punished for 6 years when i thought i was doing the right thing, this is the only blemish on my report, im all for the truth if it warrants it, but surely you must agree 9 days late and punished for 6 is abit harsh,
  • This has happened to me, although not with a catalogue account. It was removed because they didn't inform me properly that the (short) arrangement would have a detrimental affect on my file. It's worth a polite phone call.

i think i might try it, ive recently paid the account in full and in the process of having it closed down, do you think i should get in contact before shutting it down or after,

Presumably you agreed to the Terms and Conditions when you signed up with them.

Did you read them? In particular the section entitled Data Protection?

no but, in all fairness who does, i rang up to inform them that i wouldn't be able to make the payment on time and asked for help, she said we can set a payment scheme to pay the months amount wont the months amounts paid the payment scheme will finish and normal payments will commence. i though great, that's brilliant, but she never told me anything about how it would make my life hell in trying to obtain credit and also take me 6 years to get rid of it,

What other options did you have?

I doubt it will get removed

You were unable to meet your obligations to pay (your responsibility)

You made an arrangement to pay later than due

this situation was recorded accurately on your credit file

(and as a softer 'hit' than simply missing a payment altogether / defaulting)

This kind of flag is very relevant to banks etc (it is reflective of someone who's finances are on thin ice that a small hiccup such as job change / loss / small salary delay will derail them from meeting payment commitments)

Someone in a position to avoid these small mishaps (eg by building up an emergency fund to bridge a gap like this) would read as more credit-reliable and end up with this reflected in a higher score / better credit record

Get a payday loan, but I was told that would destroy my credit, that's why I decided to ring up for help

I totally agree in some respects, but as for informing me the arrangement would be recorded on my credit file And would shatter any chance of me obtaining credit for the next 6 years, she never did otherwise I would of just took the late payment hits,

Late payments also show on your credit file and aren't good.
