Lionel was great! He can certainly put on a show, the audience were in the palm of his hand.

Only problem was one idiot that insisted on standing up, despite no one else in the section doing so...... Therefore blocking the view. Despite ignoring polite requests from many people to sit down to they could see, He seemed to get the hint after I bellowed "hey a-hole, sit down!" My DH was mortified! :rotfl:

Re trip from the airport, my dad came to pick us up on his hire car (they arrived earlier than us), so no need for any confusion re routes!
I would have done exactly the same re the a-hole. Someone needs to tell them.

Glad you got sorted with a lift.

I have just booked to go back in October :D:D found a great deal and couldn't resist!

We went last May and had a great time, but a couple of months ago I had an email stating one of our Estas was out of date, but it didn't name the person. I'm presuming it's my husbands esta as his passport is quite old, but is there any way of checking that my esta is still ok?
You should be able to follow the link on the email.

Failing that go to the esta site and log in with your passport number. It will tell you your esta status.

    hi
i see another person has a countdown for there holiday its 17 or so days for us!
I think what you are refering to in your post is tix4tonight, which helped us last year when we did a couple of shows, fantasy and david cooperfield whom was amazing and hoping to see him again this year!
the good thing about the tix4tonight booths were good good savings for shows that day/night which is handy and like you have said there are lots of choices:T

On a side note- my brother and I were tlaking about our previous trips and our biggest wins and i think i may had done badly compared to him:mad:

so whats everyones biggest-best win?what machine/game were you playing?
My biggest win was i think was in planet hollywood with the willy wonka machine, i think i won $220

    3 days for me!!:j

I think my fave win was on original Wicked Winnings, $1 bet for $1600 win, that was in PH.

I'm taking my girls who are 13 & 11 and was wondering which hotel pools are child / teen friendly. We took them a few years ago and stayed at Palazzo but the pool was just a rectangle pool really.

I've read MGM and Mandalay Bay are the best for kids but wondered if anyone had any experience of other hotels.

    Many thanks.

We used to take our son, when he was young

IMO the best pool for fun is Mandalay Bay.. with a beach, lazy river and surfing waves

    hi

we ve only had experince with the mgm pools, and well there are quite a few, i think 5-6 pools, though i think 1 is adult only!

there was a big lazy river pool, and a couple of big pools as well, I do recall seeing quite a few kids at the pool,
Have you got things to do in vegas with the young ladies?
i recall there is like an arcade type place in ny ny which may be fun, and well circus circus has like some circus type rides which may be of some intrest to you and the girls!
    hope this helps !

moreofthegoodstuff - do share your great deal with us wont you?:T or a i being too nosey? :D

bubble113- wow what a win you had!! I hope you had some great times with the winnings!!

Someone was asking about Lionel Richie the other week. We say the show on 4th May and it was very good.

We were at the side of the theatre in the cheap seats but I don't think there's a bad seat in Axis theatre to be honest. There were big screens up at each side and the centre so you got a great close up of the action even if you were at the back. He sang all his hits and some Commodores hits too.

    We both really enjoyed it.

    That was me, thanks Pebbles!

We are going to see him tomorrow night.

    Hi

I was asking too, we saw him on Sunday 8th, we thought he was great too!!

I'd also asked about Human Natures new show, that was really great too!!

Just got back yesterday, had a week at Flamingo. Will write up a proper trip report when I'm less exhausted, but here's a few key points:

    - We had all our resort fees waived, as for the last 3 days of our stay, 3 out of the 6 elevators in our wing were down for maintenance. This meant that it often took a good few minutes to get up or down. At checkout she asked for $196 for resort fees, we just said we didn't want to pay it cos of the elevators and she took it all off straightaway. The other 3 rooms in our party did the same and none of us had to pay a penny. Result!

    - After my past 2 or 3 trips being horrendous gambling-wise, I actually did amazingly on this one. I hit a $1k jackpot on a slot in Harrah's, I think it was called Green Machine. It was the one which just spins reels and shows a monetary value and pays you out whatever value it shows. I was chuffed!

    - Also found a great little machine in Flamingo called Moneycomb, it's just next to the Hertz car rental desk in the main lobby. I honestly think there must be a glitch in the software for that, it paid me out $230ish from a $20 3 separate times.

    - Went to my first ever pool party in 7 trips, it was Marquee at Cosmopolitan. Wasn't expecting it to be that much different than just a normal pool in Vegas, but it blew my expectations away. In fact I might go so far as to say that's the best/funnest thing I've ever done in Vegas.

All in all had a fantastic time, took $1300 out with me and returned with $1600 so absolutely chuffed.

We arrived home this afternoon. The Thomas Cook flight that was due to leave 2 hours before our Virgin flight was cancelled half an hour before it was due to leave. I don't know what the problem was.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on the best pools. I think I'll hold out for a good MGM or Mandalay bay deal. I keep looking on Smarter Vegas but not cheap enough yet. Flying out 22nd August so I'm not too worried yet.

Got lots of things planned for us to do. We're starting out and finishing in Vegas and going to Yosemite, San Francisco, Pacific Coast Highway and LA in between
