We have done similar trips with our two girls so feel free to ask
any questions. We fly back on August 22 this year from LA.
Did you drive the PCH? I've booked a hotel in San Luis Obispo but thinking of changing it to a more coastal area.
What have you got planned for LA? I'm not really bothered by the city but my teenager wants to go and see the Hollywood sign and the Walk of Fame.0 -
We did drive pch, we stayed in pismo beach. Didnt really spend much time in LA, not my cup of tea. We did the hollywood sign and walk of fame. Santa Monica is lovely. Also did disneyland. This time we have a house in long beach for our last week. Planning on doing universal this time.0

There's a Southwest Thread that has answers and trip reports
We fly out of Dublin on the 20th August and will be in Vegas on 21st.
Might see you there0 -

Hi
Cant recall if you have been to vegas before(sorry if you have mentioned it) but if you have stayed at an mgm property did you sign up for the Mlife card?
If not you can sign up at Mlife.com and prehaps you may get a good deal that way?
If you have been before and got an Mlife card and have gambled(and gave the dealer the Mlife card ) you may get comped rooms, or maybe atleast a better rate?
another thought have you tried the mgm or mandaly bay websites direct?
hope this may be of some help!0 -

- We had all our resort fees waived, as for the last 3 days of our stay, 3 out of the 6 elevators in our wing were down for maintenance. This meant that it often took a good few minutes to get up or down. At checkout she asked for $196 for resort fees, we just said we didn't want to pay it cos of the elevators and she took it all off straightaway. The other 3 rooms in our party did the same and none of us had to pay a penny. Result!
- After my past 2 or 3 trips being horrendous gambling-wise, I actually did amazingly on this one. I hit a $1k jackpot on a slot in Harrah's, I think it was called Green Machine. It was the one which just spins reels and shows a monetary value and pays you out whatever value it shows. I was chuffed!
- Also found a great little machine in Flamingo called Moneycomb, it's just next to the Hertz car rental desk in the main lobby. I honestly think there must be a glitch in the software for that, it paid me out $230ish from a $20 3 separate times.
- Went to my first ever pool party in 7 trips, it was Marquee at Cosmopolitan. Wasn't expecting it to be that much different than just a normal pool in Vegas, but it blew my expectations away. In fact I might go so far as to say that's the best/funnest thing I've ever done in Vegas.
All in all had a fantastic time, took $1300 out with me and returned with $1600 so absolutely chuffed.
Perhaps I spoke too soon! Just checked my online banking and turns out we have been charged resort fees for 6 out of the 7 days. This certainly wasn't what the check-out lady implied so I have just emailed them now to dispute this.0 -

hi and that is crappy!
May i be so nosey , as this is gonna be the first year we will be charged for resort fee's did they ask for them at check in? or check out? did you have the option to pay cash?
Im one of these people whom like to budget, i think you need to in vegas, so i have like my gambiling money-my drinks money, my food money-my shows/experinces money and a bit extra just in case and i ve put money aside for resort fee(in cash though) but hoping to get them waived.
Best of luck in getting the resort fees put back on your card, hopfully if you make a fuss it'll work for you.0 -

Normally how it works is, you have to give them a Credit Card when you check-in, and then when you check-out, they will produce your bill which will contain the resort fees. They then typically just charge this to the Credit Card you gave them at check-in. However, I'm sure if you wanted to give them cash, that would be no problem.
Probably the best thing to do, is to set aside the cash for it, and if at check-out you managed to get them waived, view it as a bonus.0 -

Paid resort fees, and outstanding balance on my booking, in cash at MGM Sig last week. It was no issue at all.0
