I agree - especially the amount of credit obtained on a self-employed turnover of £24k i.e. before deduction of expenses and before profit!
Worryingly, three new credit arrangements this year - OK, one is a remortgage, but then he's consolidated unsecured debt into a secured loan  (June 2007) and then immediately gone out and borrowed a further £7k    I have a feeling we've not got the full story particularly in view of these commentsI give a different name when they knock then when I get a summons return it as not at this address, had to do this before when I was in trobblebut that still adds 6,000 ish to the pot for all fees & must do home improvements
He is living way, way beyond his means - and appears to have done so for some time. Before the August Loan for "must do home improvements" (new windows!) he was already in debt to the tune of £63k! And all of this ignores the mortgage.
I wonder what the first quote means?
But between them they COULD earn 22k a year thats only 11k each.
YOu get more than 22k a year if you are on tax credits.
His tax credit is apparently £70 pw which is only £3,640 - isn't that low even when his income was £2k per month?

IYSWIM your overall household income has GOT to be over 22k if you are claiming the tax credits properly.
The home improvements MUST wait, a LONG time!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Would like to have thanked you twice
It doesn't make sense, does it?
I am fearful for Sarf London Guy - but we can only really, really help if he "fesses up" 100%. And I rather suspect that won't happen

You are right though, he has plenty of time, and he is a very clever bloke. He just has to find a direction to go I suppose, hope he finds it!
Is that clever, or crafty??
What a way to live, hiding when someone comes from TV Licensing, then giving out a false name, returning the summonses (plural) as 'not at this address'.......sheesh, why shouldn't he pay his TV licence like the rest of us?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Be careful with the TV Licence or you could end up with another £1000.00 fine to add to your debts.
I hope you manage to sort things out - I would agree with previous posters about getting some advice from one of the debt charities.

Hi all, I think I have some luck on the way.
Been very busy looking for work, I have got 2 job interviews so far.
But best of all a good friend of mine is a top man in a construction company, after speaking with him he said he can’t see any reason why he can’t get me on the team.
Estimated wages is £100 a day plus weekend work available plus my company bringing in a profit of £1,000 a month. I have not had time to submit my updated SOA but will do this as soon as I can get on my computer got to rush helping someone move some bits for a quick dollar.0 -
Hi
Well done for getting it together so quickly.
have you talked to your missus yet? Even a few sessions in a supermarket when you are at home with junior would bring in money to chuck at the debts. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
