More likely another epson compatible seller reported you to help limit competition.
Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...

  • eBay is not for you here as you are risk of either option:-
    1. Buyer will claim not to have received it (INR)
    2. Or that it does not work (INAD)

In either case, eBay refunds immediately when the buyer reports the problem. At least, that is what they did the last few times that I tried to sell a similar item.

Of course, as other have pointed out, MS likes to report these as a VERO violation. Do you not have a friend of relative who would like this? Perhaps a student?
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.
  • I suspect this will be the case, you wouldn't think those mega-corporations would have the inclination to employ people to trawl the internet looking for little people selling stuff on a one-off basis (as opposed to businesses) but it looks like they do.
Do you really think a mega-corporation software developer uses people to trawl through the internet looking for license breaches and for sending out cease and desist notices?

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

They don't need to, they have Vero.

Considering the number advertised on Ebay, I wouldn't worry about Vero or even MS chasing you.

I have bought 6 codes from Ebay with no problems. All worked and are in use

Buyers don't need to worry, sellers do. As you were a buyer and the Op is a seller, I can't quite see how your six purchases are relevant. Six.

Because the sellers that I bought them off are still selling them

And that makes it safe advice to give a seller?

"It's ok, because I'm/he/she is still getting away with it....."

This is a money saving site. This forum is about eBay. I don't know where you post most on this site, but here we give advice that won't lose a seller money or fall foul of eBay t&c.
  • I've sold quite a few digital codes before and here is what I've learned:

    - About 1/3rd of sales I made when I e-mailed the code ended up in the buyer getting the code for free. They simply filed chargebacks on their credit card saying they didn't authorize the order. PayPal does not cover "digital items" and you will lose every time.

    - On expensive codes that can be bought retail as cards (the kind you scratch off to reveal), I sent as a tracked package and ate the loss on shipping (It cost $15 to ship !!! opposed to $0 digitally). I never had issues this way.

That's just my experience. In general I don't like to deal with codes of any kind and only get them to resell if they are very cheap to acquire.

Be aware this is a UK site and there are differences between seller protection and also listing rules between the two ebay sites.
