Clamping and/or towing away is illegal for private firms except under certain byelaws at Airports/stations (rarely).
Thank you for your advice, should I go and ask my local police station to ask them for an advice to see if it is a illegal and if it is a criminal offence for the private car park company to tow or clamp my car or create any obstruction to the driver to make me to move my car when I park my car in a private car park?
I feel I have been threaten from PPC to tow my car away when I park my car in a private car park as they said if I don't move my car they would keep issue me a ticket in everyday and they said they would tow it away within 7 days if I don't move my car.0 -

Can you explain this bit? Why would they issue you with a ticket if you are parking within their t&c?? I may have missed the reasons somewhere.0 -
Did u eventually sort out the problem with being issued a visitors permit, rather than a residents one, or is it still perpetuating ?0

Yes I have tried to get the resident permit rather than the visitors permit, but the committee said no and they won't give me the resident permit so do you know what I would need to do?
Can I park my car in a private car park with a visitor permits and if I park my car in a private car park can the private car park company tow my car away or it is illegal to tow it away?
I rang the police yesterday about the PPC threaten me with harassment, the police said they couldn't do anything if the PPC tow my car away and they said the PPC could tow it away at anytime. The police said they do not trust them, they suggest me to park my car in a council road so the PPC can't touch it.0 -

I know that, but the things is I have spoken to the police on the phone and he said that they advised me to park my car in a council road, so the LPS can't do anything to touch it. They said if I park my car in a private car park, LPS can tow my car away and they could sell my car for the value to cover the cost of the money that I don't owed them, so I have to be careful.
The police said if LPS tow my car away from a council road, I have to report them as stolen and they will arrest them for steal my car. They said they can't do anything if I park my car in a private car park and the LPS can tow my car away.
I don't feel I have spoken to a proper police officer, do you think so?
I know the one police officer I have already spoken to on youtube. Should I ask him about if it is a illegal for a private car park company to tow my car away even in a council road or private car park?0 -
oh dear , speaking to people on youtube is a silly idea.
however knowledge of the law is better!
no non official company or department (councils and police are official) ** can block your exit remove or sell your vehicle ! doing this is a criminal offence, stop worrying!
** odd ball situations on land covered by bylaws ie railway car parks can in some circumstances (if processed correctly) result in clamping/towing
the police officer at the station was probably a badly trained civilianSave a Rachael

Section 54 makes it an offence to clamp, remove or otherwise immobilise a vehicle without lawful authority in England and Wales, from 1 October 2012.
To be guilty of the offence, the person immobilising or moving the vehicle must
intend to prevent or inhibit the removal of the vehicle by its driver or owner,
whether or not there is any intent to demand a fee for release of the vehicle. The
maximum penalty for the offence is an unlimited fine on conviction in the crown
court; or a fine of up to the statutory maximum [currently £5,000] in the

Think u need to ask the committee why not.
Seeing as you have been a resident there for 30 years, I would have thought that you would have been at the front of the queue when they were doling them out.
Keep at them and get them to solve the problem for you.0
