    List for today:

    • Top-up shop from Lidl (apparently their bacon is in the half price weekend so I want to get there soon!)
    • Slow cooker chilli
    • One load of washing
    • Get the first draft of my essay done before the footie starts at three. I won't be able to work with all the background yelling happening :D
    • Fill in my planner with all my upcoming things for the year
    • Get my best mate to send me her photo so we can get a Two Together railcard before the tickets go on sale for our London jaunt

I'd better get cracking, I want to be on my way to Lidl for ten and I'm only just out of the shower :o

    • [STRIKE]Top-up shop from Lidl (apparently their bacon is in the half price weekend so I want to get there soon!)[/STRIKE] Today's top-up only came to a tenner, including two packs of bacon :j There's some cracking fruit and veg offers on at the moment.
    • [STRIKE]Slow cooker chilli[/STRIKE] Changed my mind and did bolognese, but there's a huge vat of mince-based dinners available, so I'm counting it as done!

It's half eight and I'm only sitting down to think about my essay now. Bad me!

Tomorrow I'm off to Glasgow to meet my brother for dinner and to hang out with my friend beforehand. My brother is making his last stop before he goes back to the Middle East for work, so I probably won't see him for six months now. We'll hang out and have a nice meal though, so that'll be nice - I've convinced him to go to Pizza Express for tea so I can take advantage of their student discount on Sundays :money:

Well, we ended up in Wetherspoons instead, but Brother Mooo paid, so that was nice :D

I didn't do too much shopping, although I did find a couple of nice bits in the Paperchase sale which will get put away for next Christmas. I've added them to my Christmas 2016 spreadsheet :o

I popped in to Tesco on the way home for bread and got some excellent bargains :D The bread wasn't reduced but I did get:

    Red pepper [STRIKE]60p[/STRIKE] 9p
    Garlic (three bulbs) [STRIKE]49p[/STRIKE] 7p
    Chocolate cake (Finest!) [STRIKE]£2.65[/STRIKE] 42p :j
    Diced beef [STRIKE]£4[/STRIKE] 53p :j

The cake was excellent (I had a small slice just to check!) and there's going to be some slow cooker stew in our future too. Good news indeed :D

Can't argue with bargains like that! :T Good progress through that list, too, as you know I DO like a list! :D

    Morning all :D

It's been a busy old week, and there's another good sized list to get through. I'm trying to figure out when I can leave the house today as I'm waiting on a delivery - a dehumidifier. We have major condensation in our house and I think it's causing mould, so we're biting the bullet and ordering one. Guaranteed if I go to the shops now that'll be when they turn up to deliver the blessed thing :rotfl:

    The list for today is:

    • Washing x 2 loads
    • [STRIKE]Write a shopping list[/STRIKE]
    • Go and get the groceries for the week
    • Put dinner in the slow cooker (roast chicken today)
    • Finish reading my OU work for this week
    • Get some boxes from the supermarket so I can box up stuff for the charity shop
    • Get the dishes done

There's a lot to do, and I'm feeling quite lazy today so if I manage half of it I'll be pretty chuffed!

Pretty good effort for a Sunday! I didn't get boxes at the supermarket, but I'll try and get that done this week. Onwards to a tidier house...!
  • Dehumidifers are worth their weight in gold in a damp property Mooo - you'll probably find you want to run it 24/7 for a while moving it from room to room, then after that you'll get away with only sticking it on a couple of days a week. We have the added bonus of being able to run ours on Economy 7 electric overnight, too! :D

    Outstanding list-progress yesterday too! :T

    Thanks EH :D It's genuinely staggering how much water we managed to sook from the air yesterday, just having it on for a few hours in each of the worst-affected rooms :eek: It was noticeably warmer after being used in both of them too. It's not going to be great for our heating bill, but needs must when the devil vomits on your eiderdown ;

    Meal plan for the week:

Today - jambalaya, using the last of the roast chicken from last night
    Tuesday - Stew (reduced beef)
    Wednesday - Fritatta
    Thursday - Chilli
Friday - Bolognese (possibly more chilli!)
Saturday - Gammon, egg and chips
Sunday - Beef and chorizo one pot

I've got the ingredients in the house to make everything, apart from Sunday's meal, but that'll get sorted out when I go to the shops on Saturday. I'm doing my best to run down the freezer!
