Did anyone else notice the advert for VAPING - Yesterday afternoon at 5pm just before the
CHASE - ie When kids are watching.
This clearly breaks watershed rules - which were set at 9pm for vaping, last year ....

  • Lots of programs also do this. I'm of the opinion that the news should also be subject to a watershed, too much graphic detail before 9.

  • It is stupid to want everything policed though here and whilst I agree with certain things where is the line drawn.

Is it worth having a watershed anymore. I dread to think what the kids are watching on their laptops.

Having read the BCAP guidelines I can't see that e-cigarettes are subject to the 9pm watershed. They cannot be shown during children's programming, which The Chase is not. Do you have a reference that states otherwise?

I don't believe that the news should be censored.

It would be slightly ridiculous if important new stories couldn't be covered fully until after 9pm.

Not saying censored. Back in the day if someone was killed they used to say Head Injuries, now they say they were found with their throats cut. Unnecessary detail before 9oclock

I think the news should be as accurate and contain as much detail as they have to report.

In your example the person who was killed had his throat cut. The victim should have his cause of death to be reported accurately and not dumbed down due to concerns over the watershed.

18 is the minimum legal age to purchase e-cigarettes.

I've tried one of the disposable e-cigarettes and it was bloody awful-tastes like off milk!
