  • I have never had problems but several friends have. The worst symptoms have only ever been controlled with real HRT as opposed to supplements available without a prescription. The weight gain can be controlled by awareness of what you are eating - some medications make you ravenous but they don't have the same effect on everyone.

Get help or suffer are the only solutions.

A suggestion, OP. As she seems to know afterwards that she was entirely awful and unreasonable, how about during one of those good times that you agree how you're going to manage it. Because when she's feeling awful, she's not going to give you a helpful answer.

Ie, plan ahead that the next time she's awful, what does she want? To be left alone? To be comforted? For you to do nice things? For you to stay away? For you to make dinner? Then when she's being awful you don't need to ask the question and get an earful of a response! You can just do what was agreed and not get into an argument or debate about it.

I also agree she should go back to the doctor's, though - there may be a better option for her medically.

    Good luck!

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".
