Oblivion - Thank you!!! - I'd spent some time tidying up my email messages and contacts (should have done that some time ago). Had downloaded Thunderbird and started the migration of several email accounts - Your solution of an upgrade to 2012 and 'repair' of WLM is much easier and seems to work fine.0

Even following the guides from Thunderbird help does not really work.
You can export contacts to Thuderbird but when you look at your contacts all the information is in the wrong fields !!
It appears that the only way is to go through all the contacts & corrct the errors...........
P.S.
I exported them as a .vcf file
Could that be the route of your problem with wrong fields etc?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Very pleased to have helped. I've just finished updating the wife's laptop and that went without a hitch too. Interestingly the photo viewer which is part of Live Essentials also got updated and I may be imagining it but I'm sure photos load faster and are crisper now, especially when zoomed in with the mouse wheel.... The big problem is that you cannot sync Thunderbird & Lightning with Outlook address book and calendar. As I use a Windows phone that is an essential requirement so it looks like the LiveMail 2012 option is the only way to go.
edit: All done & working fine0 -

Do people really respond to emails that start 'Dear User'?
No wonder phishing is still so popular.
ETA I just found a copy of this in my gmail spam folder. The 'click here' links to costera.com.tr0 -
