She's complaining about the Specialist not her GP.
    .

I didn't say she was, rather that a letter expressing her concern was sent.

GP's don't have a problem with complaints because the majority of them are frivolous claims from a disgruntled patients.

GPs' do have a problem with complaints and have to account for them. No complaint is treated as 'frivolous' - as indeed I'm sure the majority are not.

I can assure you that as someone that was privy to complaints against 17 GP's for many years the majority were frivolous, but I didn't say they were treated as such....This complaints would have no bearing on the overall accountability..

No offence, but you are ignorant of the fact of issue addressed and never directly responded...
I do absolutely realise it will not be easy, but after all, being nice and not complaining got me nowhere either.
Seems like massive mountain to climb, but having more of educated opinion and advice here does only give more of an strenght to prove, that particular specialist has or ever had any will to help to cure my condition

I'm afraid being privy to complaints against 17 GP's doesn't mean you are correct in what you say. My husband is a GP and agrees that the advice given by (ManOfLeisure) is correct. Indeed, at the moment my husband is investigating a complaint made by one of his own patients against the hospital where she recently gave birth. The lady hasn't complained to the hospital directly.
  • I wish you luck OP. A few years ago I was experiencing very bad headaches and I reckon the doctors' thought it was all in my mind. Oh yes, they told me I was suffering from 'stress'. I went 3 times - saw a different doctor (not through Choice) each time and they all said the same. 2 weeks after seeing the third one I had a Stroke.

You are the best judge of 'how you feel' and so make sure that your GP understands that the consultants have yet to find the answer. I wish you luck :)

Sorry about your experience, but such clearly isn't remote single cases at all.
You and me and ever so many others bullied in to not complaining are responsible for plain arrogance and negligence and it will continue!
Hope I'll have strenght not to just get treatment, but also to get them to admit their failure, if not to expose them of being such and...
Might be too close to your Hart, sorry! But I wish, you'd try to speak justices too!

Before complaining, how persistent were you? My experience of healthcare is that you need to be quite persistent and keep going back to explain that you are still experiencing symptoms which are affecting your life and what more can they try. If you don't return they don't have time to think about you.

...well, I kept up with all appointments, I keep on trying to explain problems, especially once I get really not well, but admitedly bit of "walk over", DID let most of them things to not to moan all day, every day to all and everyone... Got to change that , keep up stronger stance and push them in every sense as tbh left no choice, before something permanent would criple me completely.

These words only are evidence in my view that your understanding of healthcare is too limited to have a chance of a successful claim.

You are assuming that the specialist failed in his duty because he hasn't cured your condition. The issue taking him to court on this basis is that a specialist's role is not to cure conditions. It is to follow specific treatment options in the HOPE that the condition will be cured. In some cases, all a specialist is duty bound to do is to give medical advice on how to manage the condition.

The way you come across on this forum is that you lack understanding of what the duties of a medical practitioner is and what systems are in place to ensure you receive the best care.

If maybe you would mind posting a bit more where you feel that malpractice has taken place, we might be able to help you more, but as it stands, I would say that at best, you might get an apology for not having explained procedures as best as could have been.
