Car showroom price mistake on deposit. Now asking for more

Just a little over 2 weeks ago my Dad bought a car from local showroom. The deposit was presented verbally by the salesman at the point of sale as £449. This price was even present on the receipt.
Fast forward to today and the salesman has phoned my Dad stating that he had charged him the wrong price on the deposit and that it should have been £499 and now asking my dad to pay this amount.

The sale is now completed and all other monies paid and my Dad is in possession of the car.

What are my Dads rights in this case?

Unless he's planning to pull out of the deal does it matter? It's either an extra £50 now or when he concludes the deal

It's only a deposit, presumably you're still buying the car, it's not as if they're asking for more money on the price agreed.

You can argue with them but is it really worth it?

He already has bought the car. Sorry I should have stated in my first post. This is 2 weeks after the sale. My Dad is now the owner of the car.

What did the invoice say was the total cost? What has he paid in total?

So he has the car... an invoice... they have their money... and now they're asking for an extra £50 ?

Tell them to do one.

Have your Dad ask the showroom why they think he should pay an extra £50 over the agreed total price?

so if the car was £4,000 and he paid £449 deposit and £3,551 balance then the car is paid in full so if they say the deposit should have been £499 then he has overpaid the balance by £50
If they balance paid was £3,501 then there is still £50 due to pay the full price
