One of my friends had lived in JB in South Africa. The master bedroom was a sealed panic room, the whole family used to sleep in there. When they came to England it took them years to adjust to the kids sleeping in their own bedrooms (I have to admit I am amazed they had 6 kids when they all shared the same room!).
She also spoke of the lack of mindless violence in UK crime, which is hard to comprehend for me, but I have never lived anywhere that you needed a panic room to sleep in! ............ but then she does go mad at me as I don't lock my front door ever. Although this is well known, I have never had any difficulties/thefts. When the kids were teenagers I occasionally woke to find their friends asleep in the house without us knowing...... normally when they have argued with parents and come to ours as they knew they could eat and sleep without disturbing anyone.

Thanks to all that has helped with the glitches, and the banter and the support. You are all stars x
We had normal bedrooms in South Africa. No panic room style rooms. However, normal in South Africa is burglar bars on the doors and windows and burglar alarms, and sometime razor wire on the 6ft walls that surround your property (no easy to break flimsy fence panels over there). Dogs are also for safety and are guard dogs and are not merely pets.
I rarely lock my doors at night or when popping out to the shops. I lock them however when going to work for the day. I also seldom lock my car ... After having lived in a country where life is considered to be cheap, I consider it a breathe of fresh air to live in one where crime is relatively low.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Bought 4 boxes of the Red Label tea in Lidl this morning, came back and tried it, bought 4 more boxes this afternoon
It is very nearly half the price of the Sainsbury smart price one and is as nice

Good to hear it worked for you.
Out of interest, and sorry if already discussed/reported, but is there a voucher value limit on the self-scans before it needs another level of authorisation (I know the maximum value for a voucher to be produced is £100 according to the T&Cs, and for the old voucher system anything above £9.99 needed to be typed in), or with the new set up can you scan the voucher and the receipt yourself up to any value on self-scan and not need staff at all?
Many thanks

Probably a surge in orders/quick appearance on HUKD or 10ways would do the trick, whether people placed large orders or not. Big companies monitor social media, there are services that you can pay for to notify you if you are mentioned (and even Joe Public can if they so desire with something as simple and free as G00gle Alerts).

That was probably it. never mind onwards towards next glitch. I like most of you on here still have a cupboard full of toiletries, household goods, food and gifts. I am more stretched for money than I was at start of last year ( and am looking for some more freelance work ) but due to this thread I dont lose any sleep about my finances as I know all will be well. Thanks all0 -
