A have offered conditional spends in the past too....didn't we have a spate of £5 wys £40 a couple of years back?

Perhaps they will just look at branded goods......who knows......but they must realise that they are being unnecessarily generous in comparison to the rest.

When people are wombling £2k+ a year and sometimes £6/700 a month it shows that in general terms the uptake isn't that high. People are more likely to use a coupon sent to them than one they have to generate themselves, IMO.

Take, for examples, PPI or private parking tickets. Loads of people make money doing it for others when in most cases it's hardly any effort. People are lazy at stuff they care not to understand. APG falls in to that category in normal people.

Unsure what other people's views are.......but I think we are going to see some changes sooner rather than later with A and the APG......didn't A announce they would be reviewing it in the first quarter of this year?
Following on from the changes we have seen with other supermarkets, it is inevitable that A will reduce their offering or go for something totally different......there has to be a strong possibility that we may lose our 10%:o

In view of this I will be stockpiling loads of long dated stuff when I can. The Baxters soup have a 2018 date and if the pasta had worked I would have gone for that too....even though we have lots of Barilla....dried pasta usually has a couple of years on it.

I know some peeps don't like to stash stuff but just thought I'd mention it......what are other people thinking?

I too think the APG is on its way out. A haven't advertised it instore or on receipts for quite a while now, and I suspect its usage is really low among 'normal' shoppers. Many SA's I encounter, particularly in newer stores, have never seen such a thing as an APG before. Its also far more generous than anything the other supermarkets offer, being the only one to match on non-branded goods and against Waities, as well as the 10% on top.

I think they'll switch to something that'll reach a wider pool of their shoppers, so more are convinced they're better off at A. I suspect this will involve some vouchering element, given how they've just invested in a new system to authenticate their own vouchers electronically.

I reckon glitches on the scale we've been used to will be far fewer and far between. I'm going to have to find a new hobby :(

You never know though, it could stay the same, or become even more generous ;)

The problem with only matching branded goods, IMO, is that it won't do anything to win back the customers they are haemorrhaging to Aldi and Lidl, to whom brands are less important.
