  • Soo if we did meet up Savvy you would be ok with me swearing as it is expected behaviour for me.

I have sworn in front of a bank cashier, not at one though that is an important difference.

Helicopter has finally stopped going over looking for the driver. Police rang us. The owner has just reported it stolen. What a coincidence! hmm
I have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar :)

Good morning all, clear sky here.

Question - what is the worst time for the freezer to go wrong? Answer, right now :mad:

Fortunately this one keeps everything frozen for a long time so will be OK over Christmas, then hopefully borrow a friend's freezer, but I am not happy, it went wrong in June too and it is under 2 years old, which means it is still under warranty with John Lewis, which also means it will once again probably take at least 2 weeks to fix, probably 3 or 4 this time of year :mad:

    Pah!!
Freezer is nothing, I woke up to a horrendously noise boiler.
Having officially Britain's worse landlords who are selling up for £250 m and no doubt in the tropics somewhere I followed protocol and emailed them. Realised not a cat in hells chance of a reply so phoned their on all plumber. So much for on call he is on holiday too (nice bloke don't blame him he is losing a big contract soon). He gave me the original on call plumbers number who did not have a clue he was on call for Xmas.
As things stand he is contacting mum with a time to meet him at my house tomorrow. If it is the fan needing oiling again then that's good. If it is the pump then doubtful will be done before 5th Jan, if landlady okays it that is.

Calling him out without permission means she doesn't have to refund the call out fee of £50 plus vat.

Anyway, trauma day. Mum drove me to Bedford in my car with step dad following then they drove home. I will drive myself home boxing day but take it easy.
Bed picnic only crisps and not up to TMs standards but will do better tomorrow.
Tonight I am just happy to be warm.

    Right off to catch up.

Sorry about your freezer E it really isn't good enough.

    V x

I think it's safe to say tbw wanted to say "they shot themselves in the foot" but their finger slipped and they inadvertently replaced the "o" in "shot" with an "i"

The !!!!! therefore replaced it with !!!! because you're not allowed to use the word they mistakenly typed out

Anyway, in a way, I'm glad I got that bit (about the Filthy Gorgeous song) out of my head, as I have, as it happens, been thinking about it again in the last few days.

I do periodically. Last time was probably a year ago. This is about things that happened in my life nine years ago. I've been thinking back, earlier yesterday, to 1999 as well. And when I was caught at work with the radio on in someone's room into which I walked and a particular song came on that caused me discomfort at the point at which the edit occurred. It was compounded by the sexually explicit meaning. I never heard the uncensored song ever, until over 12 years later. It turned out to be exactly what I had thought for all the times I'd heard it before - and on every occasion had switched off at home whenever it came onto the radio in daytime and whenever I was listening not with my brother but anyone else was in my presence. The fact I was with a young lady at work made me feel uncomfortable.

So, yes, radio versions of songs are the problem for me - and I've been caught by them numerous times to the point of developing a clinical illness and having all the very same symptoms as are found in some victims of personal abusive behaviour directed aimed at them.

I've learned so much about emotions since - and like to think that it's because the world wanted me to experience them in order better to know how things are.

The first song I switched off - when I used to listen (all the time!) to the radio - I no longer do at all because current music since about 1998 has not been to my taste - was Fatboy Slim Gangsta Trippin' radio edit.

I have never yet been caused offence by that, as I have never yet heard it when in a place around other people. I can safely listen to it entirely alone or on headphones where only I can hear it. However, I felt that I would be uncomfortable if I were to hear it with my parents and, on every occasion, if it came onto the radio whenever I was playing my radio out loud, I switched it off. I was never pre-warned. It is always the things they never warn about that cause me distress, and nothing that they actually warn about. However, if I was warned in the gym, then I would have to leave and that would disrupt my exercise so would itself be unacceptable. I would also not know when it was okay to come back. I have left pubs in the past, for five minutes, though not knowing precisely when to come back, because a certain song has come on. I no longer go to any gym, have not been to a gym for over eight years, and thus get no gym exercise at all, precisely because of this and because I am unable to go because if I do I will encounter, at every session as before, inappropriate and unacceptable material on the radio/television.

I still have problems though, when I go to an appointment and the radio is on the background (or foreground, for me) and a song comes on that sounds like a rock or rap song, that I do not know the song and do not feel comfortable that the material will be completely inoffensive to me, so therefore feel uncomfortable even if it later turns out to have had none of the problem material in it.
