If anyone knows dippy outside of here, can they give her a nudge and ask her to read her PMs. I sent her one that is a bit time sensitive.

it might be the chocolate, the value stuff tends to go into lumps when heated :(

It had melted fine until I added the butter and syrup.

Will get some more and try again, think next time I won't bother adding butter and syrup and will literally just melt it then add the dry biscuit mix (of which I have plenty left!).

At least it was only value chocolate so didn't cost a fortune.

Squigs I will address this to you as others seem to think I was horrid - well I wasn't, I was just thinking of Paddy who had a great life & if a dog goes blind or is feeble, most owners put it down but you didn't, you gave Paddy a lovely life beyond the point most people say enough is enough.

Having had a lovely life, Paddy has passed on, I think it is natural for an owner in that situation to say, well I'm glad I gave Paddy a fantastic life but in a way I'm also glad Paddy has passed on because that marks a new start for me and a fitful end for Paddy, dogs are not humans after all & Paddy did not really enjoy the last few years the same as a young dog.

I think you owe yourself a cocker spaniel puppy as they are IMV the best, but there are many other good ones as well eg labs - if you get a rescue PUPPY that's great as well but if you get a rescue adult dog, you know there might be issues but OTOH that would be nice of you again.

No offence taken on my part, as I know everyone has different views and accept that.:)

As to getting another dog, if I do, it will be a rescue one again.
I do have three more dogs who are from the same litter, but rescued at different times. They are blood hounds crossed with dalmation and are rather large to say the least!
A new dog would have to be accepted by them, so it is a little difficult.

There are quite a few of the chocolates going RTC instore so it is worth checking that aisle and we can then work out any good deals like you have found above.

Last year it included Toblerone and Quality Street (Christmas or Easter? Or maybe more than once? They worked out around free and they were still in date for presents for teachers this Christmas anyway, as we have only just cleared that particularly stash ).

I'm wondering if there are any RTC sweets/chocolates of which five can be bought at RTC price and then 5 for £1 vs elsewhere cheaper? However, it's not going to work with that - they're not going to be under 20p each and A's offer is better-priced than elsewhere. I don't think there's any point using a trigger as then you'd get the individual prices you paid. I'm thinking about instore as usual! However, it may be worth looking if any RTC products are on mbuy online and then buying the appropriate number for a comparison vs elsewhere if their individual price is any cheaper (or not 10% cheaper than...) elsewhere.

I've been to A today and :(it's like a Saturday - get back to work:p! Most of the Tenderheart cabbages have, however, become something that seems more substantive in my A - I didn't have them on my original list but have now managed to buy one, so that's all good.

Meanwhile I went into Lidl when I got back and I won't be doing a price collection on Thursday or, indeed, I suspect ever again for there but I notice that the King Edward Potatoes (Mini Roasts bags) are now 22p. So that now has to be factored in as...

    22/1.5x2.5 = 36.6666...p
As opposed to 10% cheaper than 39p against T on the A White Potatoes = 35.1p:).

So... it's still Avs T on the potatoes - White Potatoes - but only if they are being bought in a T comp. shop or perhaps separately by someone using a colleague discount card. They should not - all things totally equal (i.e. all competitor shops available to you without additional travel costs) - be bought for A's straight 39p price, as the potatoes in Lidl now work out slightly cheaper than A at non-10% cheaper price but worse than A with 10% cheaper than T. Of course, you need at least 7 other items in A so, unless you already are getting those, it may make no sense to spend more as even an extra 10p Haribo is losing all the saving and more, so may as well get at straight Lidl price in Lidl or else the A ones in A at 39p:eek: if you have no Lidl available. Or you could buy in T at straight 39p if you have no T or Lidl. But if you have a T and Lidl but no A, it would work out better, technically, to be buying in Lidl rather in T (again, unless you have a staff discount card for T that makes all the difference).

Did you melt the butter into the syrup first and add it whilst still warm?
