DD2 watched the documentary on domestic abuse last night, some nasty memories surfaced for me about my ex. I wanted to turn it off but I just kept thinking how lucky I am.....just awful and so sad what it leads to for some. :(

This time of year always haunts me even though over 28 years later I should be able to bury it deep, it always surfaces. I can remember the last year we were together not being able to wear a little black dress to the xmas party at work, I had to go out and buy a long sleeved high neck blouse to wear.

I have such a wonderful family now it's sad that all these years later someone still has a bit of a hold on me.

Sorry if this hits a nerve with anyone :o, it has not been a secret I have mentioned it before here, and it does help a bit to offload it so thank you for listening. :A

I hope it explains why I have been a bit quiet lately......

TS, quiet................... you are one of the gobby girls!!

I am sure that the vast majority of survivors have the same thoughts and feelings as you are now. Christmas is a hard time which brings back negative memories for many people.

I do think that it is healthy to have memories/feelings surface now and again, if you bury what happened - it will fester and will have a negative impact on you, which is not what you want.

You have overcome/come to terms with a terrible life experience in a very healthy way and moved on to have the life that you deserve.

    Take care x

Went back to local Post Office today as they were sold out of 2nd class stamps yesterday and had asked for emergency supplies but still sold out today so had to pay for first class.

They said they had been getting people in from the main PO asking for them too. Seems to be a bit of a national shortage anyone else had any problems?

DIY SOS.....floods of tears here :o What terrible situations some people have to live in.

I'm home alone with DS2 tonight. He's been wall bouncing and window licking because not only does he have a 1pm finish tomorrow but he has to wear a xmas jumper as well. That 2 things too far removed from the routine in one day.

I've not helped things by neglecting laundry duties lately :o he came down at bedtime with a pair of PJs on.....the bottoms were just below his knees and looked like they had been spray painted on and the top was above his belly button :o:o how he got in them is beyond me! :rotfl: he came in and said 'eh mum, is there any clean pyjamas because I'm not sure these fit me anymore'
After I peeled them off him and looked at the label, they are age 8-9 :o and he's in man sized clothes as of the last 6 months. I must've missed these languishing at the bottom of the drawer. I must have a laundry day instead of living out of the drier
