Real Christmas trees - has anyone got any advice where to look please. I am possibly thinking of one on a pot I can stand outside afterwards and then drag back indoors each year.

Don't tell me about the B&Q £1 trees from last year - I am never in the right place when these things

I was thinking about the ikea £25 ones but I don't know how long you get to use your £20 voucher in January? Ikea warrington is a bit if a long drive for us and it would mean getting Oh away from work twice which I do t think will happen

Eldest son is still ranting on about having a real tree which so far I've said an emphatic NO to - on the grounds that I don't have the Christmas choreographer this year so it's just a mass of work for me to do - decorating, clearing up afterwards etc

But he has been abroad for the last 4 Christmasses and working so this will be his first family Christmas now I am wondering if I am being mean by saying no.

The other issue will be that as soon as eldest child gets on her train going north on the 27th then it will be an excuse for youngest son to also disappear into the sunset as I know he is contacting his mates to go and see them. And then eldest son and GF will then disappear off to her flat
So by the 27th evening we could be home alone yet again - so this Christmas tree will only be up and seen for a week while there are any offspring home

Continue saying no BUT get out and get a real tree as a surprise. The memories of this short Christmas will be immense. The smell of a real tree can't be beaten. Go get one even if it's a small one off the market just for this year.
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

    Good morning Elite :santa2:

Hope everyone keeping well, good luck bubbs at the docs and Mr Sarahdol at hospital, it is today isn't it, good luck anyway :)

I've been jaunting around for a few days and have masses to catch up on so I will be a while.

Got home in the early hours and am still tired, washing to do, shopping to get  Must also make a concerted effort with Christmas shopping. Going to start wrapping today rather than leave it til the last minute

Going off for a coffee and a quick catch up, it maybe longer than quick though :rotfl:
    Happy shopping folks :)

    that is brilliant advice :T

Just had a look at the calendar and eldest son and GF are due back from their Japan trip on the 19th so the earliest they will pass through will be next Sunday 20th so I've got just under a week to get my act together - it can sit in the garden until Saturday

I've just put a message on our local streetlife group to see if anyone has any good ideas for more local places for trees - this will pacify OH if he does not have to drive very far.

In the meantime I just have to avoid and ignore anyone who even makes a mention of Christmas trees from anyone

I also might have to gag OH who has a runaway gob :rotfl:

Thank you. I had not spotted it. (Duck at A if anyone is wondering.) I use Delia's port with marmalade recipe which is amazing. Bubbs, it is really easy and you don't have to be quite as fussy as she is with the end instructions.

Bubbs, I too appreciate the HDUK posts even if I just click thanks and don't often comment.

I'd like to thank the person who said the potato vouchers were at Watford. I was on my travels at the weekend and got, ahem, a few -- very pleased. Got trouted by a young  SA who first of all wouldn't let me try two dairy coupons in one shop (wasn't sure they would work anyway) and then said the potato coupons were one per transaction. I had not checked this but asked sweetly if she would like me to put all 15 through in separate transactions? (At this point was super-cool as clearly I did not want this to happen!) She called her supervisor who looked stunned and agreed she should just put them through. She also tried refusing multiple Barilla vouchers but I pointed out that they were definitely one per item, not per transaction. I was in a rush so got the BM a bit wrong as I forgot the £20 max. She also wouldn't let me buy a T gift card before she did the coupons which meant that the last three did not work as there was just 85p to pay. I should have just paid it and grabbed the coupons back but I was very flustered at this point and gave her back 3 pacs of potatoes, at which point the till had a large minus amount, which rather upset her and the supervisor who she had called back!! (It was actually very funny!) He just told her to give me the shopping, so we went away with loads of free shopping and I used the last three coupons on a shop for myself when I got home. Had a family member with me (who was delighted to receive the potatoes) and he now thinks he will be able to get into BM!

Anyone near Watford might want to check the large display of Bombay Sapphire as you go into T. Yesterday they had the blue and white bottles all priced at £15, but the website says the blue bottles are £20. A possible DTD here? Not sure if I am glad or sorry I didn't pick one up yesterday as I do need one. But we were in a rush, so spending time at CS wasn't really possible.

Anyone wanting to buy Elizabeth Arden Red Door edt 100ml would do worse than go to Superdrug. It's auntie's perfume and she needed it now! (Don't they always...) Got her two boxes then bought two myself for her Christmas and birthday as it is on offer for £25. Got beauty points and also, because I had spent 3 x £30, three good sized teddy bears.

The perfume offer is on any fragrance.

Please make sure the gag is very tight  my DH is the same, just can not keep it zipped. I have resorted to telling him I'll never tell him anything else if he blabs and it seems to work :rotfl:

The quicker you get out and get the tree, deal is done, it won't matter what anyone says about trees after that. Good luck mhoc :j

I am sure you will have spotted this but just received an email highlighting an offer on CoS.

10% back on beer - all pack sizes for stated brands

Now I would think that beer features on many Christmas shops and on wombled receipts ...

Claim 30 times. Major supermarkets covered

Edit - for home delivery/online only (hence why no one has mentioned then, sorry! :o. Still an opportunity for an extra 10% back on your Christmas beer orders, particularly if you are matching high A prices to low competitor for APG :)
