Thanks nanny, yes we are for my DD1s 25th birthday  I do feel old but she is still a child at heart. Her sisters have got her Lego for her birthday. :rotfl: She has been buying some for Teeny for Xmas and feels she missed out with her one set she had when she was younger and has had down from loft.

It was her idea to go to Harry Potter not sure what me and Mr TS will make of it. :)

My DGrandson went last week and rated it ...he was bought up with Harry Potter as a boy and he had many a cozy up on the sofa enthralled reading the books with Nannylala ...happy days :A..and we also went to see all the films

Hope your DS got home safe cjj .
I never had this trouble my DS was an :A always texted to let me know what time about he would be home or if he was staying out :T

I envy your well trained offspring, I always say to mine text me when you get there but they never do, as soon as they get out of the door I am but a dim and distant memory
The longest has been 6 weeks with no contact, I did know what country he was in but even that I began to wonder about

Barely slept. Ds not home from night out yet. Texted & rang to check he is ok but no reply. I'm starting work at 7.30, he is on annual leave. It's so hard being a parent xx

    It never gets better either.

I still wake in the middle if the night in a state of sheer terror and panic even though none of mine live at home - I suppose its the worry about then making immature bad judgement calls and putting themselves into danger

  • Morning all!

Busy day yesterday with family and trip out to build various bears :), nice but oh the queues!

Hope all are as well as they can be given their situations, and that people enjoyed their holidays.

That's the trouble with trolleys - and was the point I was suggesting - you have to watch the size of the trolleys as, the bigger they make them, the more it encourages people to fill them right up and therefore spend too much! For us anyway - maybe it's a benefit for some wombles!

This made me smile - I have to use a smaller trolley as those huge things are just too deep for me to reach down into when I get to the till! It feels like weightlifting upside down!

    xx

Real Christmas trees - has anyone got any advice where to look please. I am possibly thinking of one on a pot I can stand outside afterwards and then drag back indoors each year.

Don't tell me about the B&Q £1 trees from last year - I am never in the right place when these things

I was thinking about the ikea £25 ones but I don't know how long you get to use your £20 voucher in January? Ikea warrington is a bit if a long drive for us and it would mean getting Oh away from work twice which I do t think will happen

Eldest son is still ranting on about having a real tree which so far I've said an emphatic NO to - on the grounds that I don't have the Christmas choreographer this year so it's just a mass of work for me to do - decorating, clearing up afterwards etc

But he has been abroad for the last 4 Christmasses and working so this will be his first family Christmas now I am wondering if I am being mean by saying no.

The other issue will be that as soon as eldest child gets on her train going north on the 27th then it will be an excuse for youngest son to also disappear into the sunset as I know he is contacting his mates to go and see them. And then eldest son and GF will then disappear off to her flat
So by the 27th evening we could be home alone yet again - so this Christmas tree will only be up and seen for a week while there are any offspring home
