I'm sure the moment it is unstickied, somebody else will come along and post another thread just like this one.

Perhaps we should make all threads sticky then? :)

As fellow forum posters have complained that this thread is not contributing anything new, here is fresh data from the land registry.

    http://property.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,14029-1474829,00.html

    "Property prices slide 2.7%

HOUSE prices across England and Wales fell 2.7 per cent in the final quarter of last year, according to official figures today that give the first formal confirmation of the property downturn.

The official Land Registry data, seen as the most comprehensive and reliable gauge of market conditions, suggest that the slide in house prices in the closing months of last year was somewhat deeper than survey evidence suggested.

    ....

This morning’s figures point to widespread and significant falls in prices across England and Wales, as well as to a slump in transactions as the property market came off the boil in the second half of last year."

I'm wondering how soon it will be till this thread falls off the first page and somebody else comes along to post the same topic and start the whole circus all over again.

If that happens the threads will simply be "merged".

No problem, not really sure why it was sticky in the first place to be honest... :)

Only just found this thread...and have read through the lot (took ages mind you). At the moment I have a shared ownership 2 bed property. We bought it in 2003 and own around 40%. Classic FTB situation, where we wanted to buy, but were priced out of the market until this offer came along. On paper we now have a substantial deposit and aren't that far off from being able to buy 100% of a house, with mortgage help. It was hard to get on the ladder, but at the end of the day we did it...even if it is only one foot at the moment. In my area house prices have pretty much stagnated. There's one large house on a new housing estate that keeps popping up for sale every few months. In fact there are around 7 or 8 houses up for sale on this new estate at the moment.

No-one knows for sure what will happen, until it happens. I'm just happy that I have a home and a bit of security. I do hope to move to a bigger house, but if I have to stay put then it won't be too bad.

Love to my two angels that I will never forget.
