On a Virgin train (and probably the Cloud at W'spoons) you generally don't need a password when logging into the wifi because it is open. However, once you have found the wifi in your settings and connected and then go onto a browser (such as Google Chrome), it will open up the Virgin trains website automatically where it might ask you to create a login and then will allow you to use the wi-fi (if it is free which from experience I think it is in first class but standard you only have 15-30 minutes each time before you have to pay to use it for longer)

    Hi, thanks all...

TABLET is a Google Nexus 7. 176 pages of emanual, none seem a lot of help on this.

I had assumed you could turn it on and just connect to the nearest wifi (niave ?)

On initial turn on, I do remember 'finding' my own wifi. at home. Works. In W'spoons, it seems to be 'Cloud' . Works.
Cloud shows all local (my town + 2 neighboughs (though no way to access them)- mine NOT shown), nearby. What about if I go to another town/place ?

Nothing in 'settings' to automatically connect.

If I was travelling, and sat on a Virgin train "free wifi", then what would I need to do? I had assumed nothing. Not so ?

Is it a way forward to instal the Wifi analyser mentioned ? What that just pick up the nearest wifi ?? (Sorry to be a numpty but hey, I maybe know something you want to have more info on. MANY thanks)

The Cloud have an app 'FastConnect' to auto login, look in your tablets app store.

Q really is... If they have a computer, they have a router, so DO they ALWAYS have wifi, or does it depend /

My router can't do wifi. The free ones provided by ISPs usually can, but they are generally the at the Daewoo Matiz of the router market.
