    Thanks Shanghai

Current mortgage is variable tracker at 2.49% (Can't change due to bad happenings last year and I think my credit score is about 400 )

LTV is about 63% based on my idea of value (Z*opla has others and the LTV is 51%)

I have a little chart to colour in for months knocked off :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Colouring in charts is always good! Interest saved goes well with the OP calculator.

I've just been searching for a template of a chart with sections to colour in, in the shape of a tree - its the leaves you colour, but I can't find it. Do an image search for "savings chart", though, and you might find one you like!

  • 2.49% is by no means a bad rate at all though.

I'd love to be on a 2.49% rate but we fixed ours just before we dropped below the 75% LTV bracket so I'm
Stuck in 3.19% for another 4 years. Que sera sera
  • I have trouble with bread too, makes for some very interesting meals! I agree that it is so frustrating not being able to progress quicker, but at the rate time is flying past me it will soon be 5 years gone!

Well the weekend went well, we went to see DD with food parcels and potatoes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Having informed me she had very little money left for food, we set about working out how much she needed.........she is now the proud owner of a food diary and has filled it in, she also have multiple savings accounts, not much in them (£1 each) but it's a start.

Moral dilemma...........we spend about £30 helping her, I could have given her money but, to be honest, she needs to learn how to "make ends meet" it's her first home so early days yet, she got her bills covered plus she paid a big yearly bill, so all good. After we left she worked out that she had enough money left for the rest of the month for fresh bits and enough freezer and store cupboard things to manage....................fast forward one day....................BF's parents visited and when they said "go out, enjoy yourself" she replied "just paid a big bill so no but we will be ok"......................BF's parents answer "here's £100":mad:

Not sure how I feel about this, on the one hand I am glad she has spare money but I do feel this is not really how it should be, we struggled for so many years and whilst I don't want them too I am also very aware that they need to be able to manage. It also worries me that if they don't learn to manage it will be me that suffers, as I am first port of call. BF's dad just chucks money at stuff, I don't have to worry who is appreciated as both DD and BF know how little we have and DD, although liking the handbags of this world, appreciates deeds not cash.

Oh well poor DD has had a bad morning this am as a moo cow at work has just got the promotion, so she is job hunting :D

PS tell you about evil Swinton later
