Absolutely not, credit cards have nothing to do with you leaving your purchase on a plane. Contact the airline and pray seems to be the only option, and by the way, this is the forum to advise of special bargains, your story seems to be the exact opposite

It's not going to get a different answer to post #2 on this board though - card issuers don't provide cover for forgetfulness (I would have used a stronger word but as the thought police are out in force at the moment I won't).

Well, someone may well have ended up with a special bargain, just not the OP!

The questions people ask just baffles me sometimes....
  • Did you try lost property at the airport you arrived into? I left my laptop on my seat recently and managed to get it back.

My ex had a duty free bag stolen from the overhead locker once. Tried to claim on travel insurance but as the property wasn't on our possession it didn't cover it, so unlikely you would have any comeback there.

why in heaven or on earth do you even for one second think that someone else should pay for your mistake?

I have a terrible record for leaving things on planes (i'm on my 3rd Kindle!) but my experience is that the chances of getting things back is very low. Airlines and airports will just blame each other about whose responsibility lost property is.

Some credit cards do provide insurance cover against loss or damage for purchases using them. It might be worth checking whether your card includes this feature.
