I'd like to try again this year - £550 for 2 adults and 3 kids. 30th Dec - 28th Jan0
-
Please can i join with a budget of £50 a week.
This is for 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 4 and 5).
Both myself and husband need to loose weight , I brought a smoothie maker with xmas money. In the past I managed to cut our food bill but we both put on weight - bread and potatoe are a lot cheaper than fruit and veg! So this year's challenge is to save money but still eat healthy. Really looking forward to seeing the savings! Any left over at the end of the week will be put away for holiday spending money0 -

Hi also to mummyjane
I went to Aldi for 8am today. I think I was the only customer in the store! Got everything we need for the week, although will need to top up on veg at the weekend - Aldi veg doesn't last very well so I only bought for today and Friday (out tomorrow at friends). Still lots of goodies left from Christmas which will come in handy when BIL, his GF, 2 x neices and MIL/FIL come round later

Beginning to feel like my budget is a bit too generous for just me!! But I've got a lot of expenses in January (birthday presents etc.) so would like to keep it at £200 so that I have some leeway on other budgets if needed.Novuna personal finance 0% 4-year £518/£1866Credit card debt free! My month starts on 1st. I've checked the freezer and cupboards. We should be okay for toiletries, cleaning and laundry products so hopefully just food to buy.
I'm hoping to try out a few new recipes so going to search the boards.
Good luck everyone

Few spends for me today - I had a £10 off £50 voucher for Mr S and wanted a couple of boxes of wine so decided to make a wee trip up.
I'm not a big drinker but do like the odd glass of wine now & then so find boxes much better (if I get a bottle, 1 glass gets used & the rest ends up wasted) - I got some money for Christmas so decided to treat myself to a couple of boxes (which will last me 4-6 months :rotfl:) and Mum wanted a couple of bits so it seemed silly not to use the voucher.
Needed a couple of fresh things (milk, spread etc) but stocked up on store cupboard things like brown sugar (which is a lot cheaper at Mr S for some reason?), brown rice, olive oil (on offer), a few jars of their own pasta sauces etc
Used my nectar points & by the time I'd taken off mum's bits, the Christmas money for the wine & the £10 voucher, I'd only spent £12.25 :T - and stores nicely replenished.:)

Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
A no spend day for me, so £18.12/£25
I was treated at lunchtime so I won't need as much to eat tonight.
Dinner is cooked in the thermal bag, that will last us two days. Or I may freeze some of it as I also have two pork chops defrosting that I'd put in the fridge this morning ready to plan tomorrow's meal.
While doing the grocery challenge I am upping my payments to the credit card to 20% of my income until the debts gone, so sticking to it for as long as I can is a must. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
