Ebay Item delivered to Argos gone missing

Hi All,

I ordered some car parts last month to be delivered to my local Argos and one of them has been lost. Others arrived no problem and could collect within a few day but the last one is still outstanding, after almost a month. Annoyingly this is the part I was desperate for and took so long I ended up buying from somewhere else.

Seller has tracking information that claims it was delivered to Argos on the 12th November however I never received a collection code and after several trips to Argos they cant seem to find it. On their system its been marked as "in transit" and in my order details on ebay the item is still marked as "Item being prepared"

I escalated this case to ebay explaining the entire situation but they side with the seller because they provided proof of delivery. This is doubly annoying as I had already explained to ebay in the description that the item had been delivered but lost between there and getting to me. Surely if Ebay/sellers offer a collection service at Argos it is their responsibility to make sure the item gets to the customer?

I must say that the seller has been completely unhelpful and evasive during the whole charade and will be receiving some filthy feedback as a consequence.

As of now I am £120 out of pocket at a time of year where it will be sorely missed and have no clue what to do about it. I could go to Argos and rant at their poor staff (who have always been helpful to me in the past) however i'm not sure how far that would get me.

Surely I cant be the only one this has happened to? Please help I really don't know what to do next!

Chris

The seller has upheld their side of the deal by delivering to the Argos branch you specified. Your rant, and threatened negative feedback, against the seller is unfair. You need to direct your energies direct to ebay.

Well thats a wierd view of it. Feel sorry for the seller and focus your efforts on the company that offer nothing more than an advertising platform.

Op the facts are you order goods and as part of the service paid for them to be available from a local store, their agents. Their agent have lost it and they have not met their obligations to make it available for collection from Argos.

    I'd be pursuing the seller.

Also phone ebay though and discuss it as sometimes they over turn their own decisions or pay out of their own pocket

This thread would be better placed on the Ebay board.

And you would be wasting your time. All the seller has to do is prove delivery to an Argos store and their side of the deal is done. Also, any neutral or negative feedback left can be removed. You need to contact ebay direct who will refund you themselves. This is a quote from ebay

"Seller Protection - Once your item’s been checked in at Argos, we have processes to keep track of where it is. In the unlikely event that your item is lost while at Argos, we’ll refund your buyer for the value of the item at no cost to you and you will be protected from neutral or negative Feedback as well as any low detailed seller ratings related to delivery time."
