Final chart update submitted. Very pleased to report to report that we reduced our balance by £39,413. Missed our target by £1,587 but seeing as we had another child and a year of maternity i can more than live with that!!

3 years has flown by, and I'm so excited about where we can/will be in another 3 years. Roll on MFiT-T5.

Thank you for running this for us all.
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......

  • #3 just submitted my final numbers for this challenge.

I am so happy that we have been able to throw so much more at the mortgage than we expected. We hoped to get to around £40000 by the end but instead our mortgage now stands at £27300.

We are now hoping to pay it off during the MFiT-T5 challenge. I'm still holding out for doing it before I turn 40 in 2020 but that will mean finding another £150pcm from our already stretched and frugal budget. I've found a few items to sell and have a few other thoughts to help us along.

Looking forward to see how everyone else has done on Chart 12 and hopefully see lots of you over on T5

    Thanks again Trix

  • #62 just submitted my last update for this challenge, unfortunately no more added since update no.11 :( Had a lot of unexpected costs in the last 3 months and had to “borrow” out of savings but somehow have managed to at least not end on a defecit :D

Let’s see if I can reach my target in the next challenge, resetting the button to $0 :rotfl:

#30 here... My challenge was to reduce my mortgage from £24,278 to £12,000. Well my final balance yesterday was... £9864.98! That is way more than I thought I could manage, considering I started the challenge with a couple of months of being unemployed! :j I'm now just over £20k ahead on my mortgage. What is even better is my mortgage now costs me less than my council tax! :rotfl: I've just being OPing small amounts (usually <£20/month for the last year or so) but even with just doing these the last twice my mortgage interest rate went up my payment dropped a little!

Well done everyone and thanks to trix-a-belle for running this!
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

    Chart 12

Over the course of the 3 years we collectively overpaid more than £2million
12 challengers became mortgage free & some of them took on another one afterwards because they love it just so much ;)
Chutney86 most exceeded their target over the duration at 228%, just pipping LorryDriver1988 to the post who made an astonishing 220% but there were plenty who exceeded their targets. Great efforts everyone!

Well done everyone - there are some Fab figures in there and some oh-so-close achievements - just brilliant for everyone as it reduces the amount you pay, and either starts the magic snowball or reduces the term of your mortgage. Thanks Trix, I know you have been really busy
