There was £400 (exc cashback sites) available to you at Nationwide. How much, as a couple, of that will you realise?

Didn't your 'friend' explain? Then again, they wouldn't have got their £100 if they had! ;)

The way to have approached this was you refer her, then she refers you. Forget the joint account until you've bagged the £400.

So, again, how much of the £400 will you realise?...£100?

This is why it's best to run any ideas and plans past those on here before embarking.

My friend had already got a Nationwide account and so refered ME and so me n the wife transfered our joint account over to Nationwide.

My friend has never refered my wife so could she do that so my wife can set up a FlexDirect in her name only or will she now not qualify as she is now a Nationwide customer (in the joint account)

As ive said she has a Halifax account with 2 small direct debits going out of it. Could switch that if she is eligable for half of the £200 refer switch

    Thanks in advance

Reading/understanding the offer T&Cs might be just as good.

But what am I on about, none of those who could benefit will bother reading, anyway.

You could leave the £2500 in the TSB current account but you will only get 5% interest on £2000.

Why not do as Yorkshire Boy suggests and open a monthly saver with TSB and put £250 away for the first 2 months and then a smaller amount after that. So you are earning interest on all of it??

And don't forget that you need to transfer £500 every month from your Tesco current account to your TSB current account and then back again to fulfil the monthly requirement. And elect for paperless statements AND corresspondance.

Thanks for the advice. I have now opened a monthly save with TSB as suggested am I correct in thinking that I can pay £250 into that account every month for 12 month and still get the 5% interest rate?

I will leave £3,000 in the Tesco account and transfer £500 every month to the TSB current account and I will leave £2,000 in the TSB account and transfer £500 out to tesco every month.

I will then try and pay £250 every month into the TSB saver account for a year.

I have elected for paperless correspondence - thanks.

Im just about up and running with my TSB account. How long afterwards did you wait before applying for the RS?

I also added a BOS advantage to my plans as you can have 3 of them and it requires no DDs - just £1K monthly pay in.

Still need to work out the rotations though as thats the clever bit. I also am considering doing the regular saver parts as manual payments so the rotations are continuous and automated but I think that's because its all so new at the moment.
