Hi everybody,
Not much to report, just plodding along, been blogging, finally caught up with MSE, a waiting pay day next Friday.
My brother is spending the night here so have a mini weekend treats budget of £50.
Have increased the food budget to £200 per month to take into account that I am bringing in work lunches from home.
Have a good weekend everybody.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Thank you guys, that means a lot to me. I know getting into debt isn't exactly inspirational, but to hear you two's kind words is lovelyDebt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Today has been an interesting day. I am off work ill with what I reluctantly suspect is just extreme period pain which happens from time to time. I like to think I'm a bit tougher than that! But as mentioned before I have hormonal imbalances which isn't PCOS but is extremely similar to PCOS (and may develop into it) so that might be a contributing factor.
I am just chilling as I have a habit of undertaking every household chore imaginable on a sick day, so am just settling for doing a few essential jobs.
Caught up with MSE again, blogged again, counting down the days to pay day.
Next month will be a challenge, because this month was pretty plain sailing because I had Christmas present money and unexpectedly small credit card bills, so next month when it is no additional income, when It is all just my pay, that will be a bit more difficult.
Oh well. When it comes to money I am now fairly certain of the feeling that whatever happens I can handle it.
There is 20p of the food budget left, which resets on Friday, so I'm guessing unless there are some YS miracles to be had that there will be no more purchases until then. We have a BIG milk, bread, and all the other things my OH can't live without like crisps, cucumber and cheese (unsurprisingly he often has a cheese and cucumber sandwich with crisps on the side)
I need to add a few things to the food shopping baskets online, ready to hit 'CHECKOUT' on friday morning. It makes it seem like we are desperate for food but we really aren't, I look at the food baskets and think that 70% of what we will buy isn't an urgent purchase. I think next month will be better for the food budget.
I'm off to do some reading now and drink some tea.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Hi everybody,
Last few remaining hours of 'freedom'. I have had a good weekend.
Payday was Friday, it is so lovely to have money again.
I have decided to pay off my overdraft ahead of my other debts, so on Friday I paid off £100 taking it from £1000 to £900, which may not seem like a lot but it is significant because for the first time in close to a decade my overdraft is three digits of debt, not four.
Nearly all my credit card debt is at 0% and I expect the last remaining bit will join it soon.
I started a blog this year, a bit like this but a bit more formal and with a lot more posts about mental health. I post on it everyday.
I've had it confirmed at work that my contract won't be extended, nothing to do with me, they love me and would love to keep me but they haven't had the budget for my role approved. But a job at the same grade in a slightly different department (but still part of the same overall department) is currently being advertised and i will apply for that.
OH is out so I will have a chilled evening at home, and prepare for the week ahead.
Love to you all.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Good luck. I hope that you get the other job. We had to let a few people go last year because of cutbacks.
When I had a huge overdraft, I had it reduced by £50 every month. It doesn't sound like much I know but it really did help me to get rid of it.0 -
I just want it gone. My original intention was to clear it so that I could switch banks to First Direct, but now that there is all that talk of the banks potentially introducing fines if you use a cash machine that isn't your banks, I may just stick with it but have no debt.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020
