Had a lovely day yesterday. I woke up at a respectable time and headed straight to my hearing test which was fine. Then went and bought some make up as i've decided to revamp my look a little bit. Obviously i compared all products first then saw that natural collection in boots was only 1.99 per product so bought foundation and lipstick. When i got home and tried them both were of a really good quality and i loved how i looked.
Went a bit silly and bought two shopping bags for 3 quid each, but have decided one will be a birthday present for my friend.
Need to catch up on all my surveys as i am a bit behind.
Went for my first jog in a very long time yesterday. Need to get training for the race for life 10k! It wasn't the world's greatest jog, but it was a good jog because i was actually doing it!
Having a chilled day at home, trying to motivate myself to go to the gym, typical flo!Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Hey,
Just subscribed to your post! Like you my mum was an alcoholic and the last 3 years have been about learning how that has affected my spending habits! Luckily I think I became aware of it quite early and now write down everything I spend which is a big wake up call. I wish you the very bestTo staying out of debt!

Bit of a problem.
In the last few weeks things have gone dramatically down hill in terms of my local area. Their have been three shops on fire on the nearest high street which is only half a street away (suspected arson) with the most recent happening earlier this week, the day after the most recent fire there was a police raid in the early hours of the morning at one of the houses at the bottom of our street, and today there seemed to be a loud commotion outside with dogs barking. This doesn't include a fairly recent break in on a car. Also when we first moved a riot van pulled up to the pub half way down our street, and our next door neighbours were once burgled.
Which means me and my partner may have to move.
In general i live in quite a safe student area of cardiff. There are certainly much worse areas. Ours is more grubby and gentrified rather than unsafe, but these incidents seem to be building and building.
I live in an astonishingly good value for money property. It's a quite spacious two bedroom house with small garden for 550 between us. We have excellent transport links and i am near a local train station for getting to work. We live 10 minutes away from my partners work, so he comes and has lunch at home.
All in all i don't want to move, which in theory is fine, the option should be 'don't move then' but what's making me sad is i can't move. Because no where else will we have the value for money we have here, the house is a freak of nature, most people i know pay more for less, somehow we hit the jack pot. and i think my boyfriend is now keener to move but i can't afford anymore on the rent, unless i get a job in cardiff.
If we move to a nicer area we will also be paying more on the council tax, and we will have moving costs.
I just want my area to magically get better.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Do you feel safe? If you do, then stay. If you don't, then you will need to do something about it. Personal safety should always come first.0

I think i do feel safe, there are areas where i wouldn't, and whilst mine might fast be becoming one of those i don't think it's there yet.
Saw my counsellor today. It didn't start off well. I got into a state as i was pushed into a parked car by someone who didn't stop or care, spent most of the session in tears. Ultimately feel a bit better, but i'm struggling to stay happy long term. It's monday and i need a day off already!Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

You were pushed? I hope that you are ok. There are some ratbags living in our world! I would have been in tears as well.
I would be much happier with a five day weekend and a two day working week0 -
I have decided rather reluctantly that i will be leaving my gym and also slimming world. I feel a bit sad as i really like my slimming world consultant and my gym is so cheap, but now that i am saving up for two weddings and christmas, i could do with the extra $45 a month that will give me.
Put on three pounds over the last three weeks. I really need to get my weight under control. I am nearly 16 stone. And if i do have PCOS , as it has been mentioned on here changing my diet will really help.
So it may seem counter productive to quit slimming world and the gym, but they haven't been working for me. I haven't been going to the gym and i haven't been following the plan at slimming world.
But i think i'll be ok.
All my life i have felt like i lacked discipline/will power, but actually if i can go from maxing out five credit cards each month on buying myself things, to not having touched them at all for over four months, and knowing that i will not touch them again, then i've proven to myself that i do have what it takes.
Not using the credit cards is like breathing, something i do without thinking about it.
If i can apply some of that spirit to losing weight i will be fine.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020
