Flo's Debt Free Diary

Had to buy a new phone today. Turns out I must have been part of a scam because i offered an orange contract after orange disbanded. As a result i now have very bad coverage issues, and the only option was to get a new phone.
I was previously quoted 100 pounds to leave my contract early, and managed to get it down to 71.01 today, which was actually paid by my boyfriend as i do not have the money. This means i will have to pay him in installments over the next few months.
I did have a look at recycling my old phone and to my utter delight i found out that it can be recycled for 27.35, which goes a long way towards the 71.01 debt to my boyfriend. This means the debt should be cleared within 2 months.
The only problem was my boyfriend got huge buyers remorse and fell into a dazed and angry and depressed state which set me off and we didn't so much argue as were just really sad on the way home.
We've been having a lot of moments like that recently.
Because I was so bad with money before, and so dishonest, and so immature, i feel that i am having a hard time convincing my boyfriend that i am good with money now and i'm not going to fall back into my old destructive ways.
Sometimes i feel like my boyfriend sees me as someone who can't be trusted with money as i'll only buy magic beans with it.
I'm going to write to both Orange and Carphone Warehouse to make a complaint about what has happened, and EE who took over Orange, as what happened to my phone is not my fault and i shouldn't have to pay for it.
Let's see what happens next.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

SUNDAY
1. Go for a long overdue run. Didn't fancy it in the rain so have to make up for this.
2. Apply for several jobs over the weekend (this will keep me distracted from my impending interview)
3. Volunteer at my local arts centre and watch Inside Out.
4. Write letters of complaints about Phone.
5. Learn how to use Microsoft Access.
6. Update spreadsheets.
7. Do a very frugal food shop as we are already over budget.
8. Watch Daredevil.
9. Practise for interview.
10. Work out remaining expenses for rest of month.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Just recycled my phone for 27.35 which will go towards my debt to my boyfriend. Need to do some sums to make sure I can save the money for the weddings whilst paying off my credit cards and covering living expenses.
I think I need to cut back. I've been living on about 70 pounds disposable income after the bills, so that is the money for social life, clothes, non work travel costs and healthcare. Maybe it should be less.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Just recycled my old kindle for 3 pounds, every little helps.
Had a brain wave of taking some old Kitchen electronics to cash converter to see if i can get any money for them, again every little helps.
Hopefully I'll be coming back from the shops with a grin on my faceDebt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

I'm a bit gutted that Tescos are now doing a clubcard boost when I have spent my old vouchers due to a low cash flow month. I know I have been sent a new one, but it's only for 3 pounds so i can't boost it, and I have already used my old unclaimed voucher, and they're saying this is the last voucher boost in store, so I am a little bit gutted, but I have to accept either way I used a voucher as opposed to money to buy things.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

So Excited!!!
Just joined TCB and have seen that by doing my first shop with Morrisons through them I will get 6.30 back. That will be a hell of a start for me and I was going to do my first shop at Morrison's and spend the right amount anyway.
Guys, I think I'm in loveDebt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020
