TXTNATION charge appearing on my o2 bill. o2 have charged by account every week for £4.50, called o2 and they insist its me who signed up for it despite insisting i didn't. Not impressed with o2 and constantly arguing with them. still don't know how to make this charge go away. The o2 rep said to text STOP to 60999 and not return message from txtnation.

Someone is making a lot of money from the scam and o2 don't give a damn!

Read the first ten posts in this thread for background information. Several posts give contact details for txtNation.

If you type in the five-digit mobile shortcode, the one the message came from, into the Phone-paid Services Authority Number Checker, that should tell you more about the particular service and give contact details.

Complain both to the service provider and to PSA.

The Prepaid Services Authority website is well worth a read for background info on this industry and how to fight it. Ask your MP to raise the industry's issues with Ofcom after the general election
  • Hi I received a similar text saying I had subscribed to some media games site which I hadn't. I messaged the word stop but before it went I was told I would incur a fee, so I called the other number and told them I had not subscribed. The person then said he had unsubscribed me. Tomorrow I'm going to look into how much has gone from my mobile account and see if I can get the money refunded.

Yes, your mobile phone provider will charge you "one standard rate message cost" to send a message to a shortcode number. This fee is set by your mobile phone provider.
